FDC Rules and Regulations.

Transmission
A transmission and differential oil catch tank must be installed. The transmission catch tank capacity must be more than 100cc and made by metal or resin and must be installed in passenger compartment. The differential catch tank capacity must be more than 200cc and made by metal or resin and must not be installed in the passenger compartment. If both transmission and differential share the same catch tank, the capacities need to be greater than 300cc in total. The catch tank breather must exit the outside.

*We need transmission and diff catch tanks? I'm not sure how to even hook up a line for that shit.

2.21 Lights
Vehicle must be equipped with full operational headlights, small lights, brake lights, and emergency hazard lights. Glass lens head lights must be covered with transparent tape in the event of breakage.

*What is a 'small light'?

6.1 Steering Wheel ignition Lock
The steering wheel ignition barrel locks shall be removed.

*What? I don't really understand this one, I found a write-up on this for a bmw and it was very involved.

Catch tanks only if you run someting aftermarket custom made stuff so dont worry about them in your car, I'll make the adjustment on the rules.

Small lights = blinkers
It means that the whel doesnt lock it not complicated to do at all just remove or cut the pin in your wheel reason for it is that the safety crew can move/steer the wheel if you are not around with the keys and this way there is no way of accidental steering wheel locking while driving. (has happened to me on street, Not a good feeling)

2.17 Cooling System
Engine cooling system must not contain any type of coolant; system must be filled only with water, Water Wetter permitted. If cooling lines are plumbed through passenger compartment they must be either steel braided hoses or metal tubing or a combination thereof.

you cant run coolant? Most cars will boilover drifting with just water

water always runs the car cooler than mixing it with coolant! use wate wetters to help on the cooling issue, but using antifreeze will hurt the cooling process for sure, maybe you have air in the system.

i run pure antifreeze and my car wont get hot at all if i run pure water it over heats

coolant boils at 276 degrees F

water boils at 212 degrees F

Your car bends physics then SAS, because water has always made my car run cooler. The point of coolant (or anti-freeze) is for cars where it actually gets cold.

are you retarded water boils at a lower temp there for it boils out before coolant will. The higher the boiling point the hotter it can get before it boils out do the math.

No, but I'm no scientist either. But explain to me why Water Wetter says that water will keep the car cooler than coolant on their bottle?

I ran water + water wetter and drove 20 hours straight. Las Vegas-through Death Valley-Over the Sierra Mountains-Through San Francisco traffic-then 4 hours up route 101.

From my motorcycle track days you are required to remove all coolant and only run Distilled water+water Wetter.

um my dad is a scientist and has a phd and says you are dead wrong water with additive like water wetter will keep your car cool but striagt water will not.

You are welcome to inspect my cooling system anytime you'd like. I am running straight water (no water wetter) and my car will barely leave the blue mark. If I go sideways (no direct air going through radiator) then it'll creep up to half, but never past that.

Why? I have no idea, but it works. If he can't explain it with a Ph.D, then maybe he should get his money back.

if your car gets over 200 degrees you have a problem which is more than likely caused by running nothing but antifreeeze. You are correct on the boiling point of antifreeze being higher but that has absolutely nothing to do with the cooling capability of the product. Water is more effective on removing heat than antifreeze period, water wetter is technically soap that doesn't bubble, see it brakes the tension srface of water there fore allows the heat and cold air to tranfer more efficiently between aluminum and water. Antifreeze slows down this process there fore it doesnt cool as effectively. If you over heat with water alone you have other issues with your engine fixing with higher boiling point will cause you to start cooking your oil and screwes up your bearings, causes detonation etc....... in another words you will blow your engine.

I dont give a damn what your dad says.

My uncle helped invent solid fuel rockets, and lectures at MIT, Penn State and Princeton on physics. He also used to be the lead guy at Bose audio labs. This same guy told me that lean runs cooler, and rich runs hotter.....

The reasons to run coolant are: Anti-freezing properties. Anti-corrosion properties.

The boiling point of water versus coolant has nothing to with the specific heat, thermal capacity and conductiveness of the material.

Here's a great except for you:

Only use the amount of antifreeze that your demographic region dictates. Basic chemistry tells us that pure water is the best coolant, period. The specific heat of water is 1.0. This is the common chemistry yardstick that says that it takes 1 BTU to raise 1 pound of water 1° F and is assigned the 1.0 specific heat number. A 50/50 mix of ethylene glycol (the green stuff) has a tested specific heat number of 0.5 and of propylene glycol of 0.3. What this means is that it take twice the amount, in the case of the green stuff (and over three times for the red stuff) of BTUs to raise the same amount of water 1 degree!! This means that pure water will remove double the amount of heat and carry that heat away from the source per unit volume. Now, do the arithmetic and you will find out that the more pure water...the more heat gets taken away! Do not confuse this with the boiling point of the coolant.

sweet. good info, I was also wondering about this, i just have some anit-freeze but i figured with just some, it raise the BP some. With this info I am more comfortable with running straight water, but still hate to waste my ectocooler drink. lol
