fairgrounds events?

we were talking to the owner of jdm ups when we went to the event in orlando, and we told him about maybe hosting a event at the fairgrounds and he sounded very intrested, so hopefully he will get on that and make it happen.

yea but after you tried to kill everyone at that event i doubt thatll ever happen!

jk dude

good luck getting 50 people to pre pay 100 for a event with no date they wanted us to pre pay for the gville event but didnt even give a date. so why would you pre pay for a event that may not be able to attend.

so maybe we see how many people are interested first

if the number is good we take a vote on which day

once we decide on the day we see whos true to their word and actually pre-pays

if the requirement is met then BADA BING!

thats the thing the day we would set wouldnt matter if fairgrounds is unavilable and you do know that fair grounds is expensive to rent thats why it was $100 a person.

this all makes sense and is understandable why sflbrokeasses dont get to slide fairgrounds anymore

but what im saying is we take a vote of the avaliable days fairgrounds has for rent, and if we get enough people to slide and spectate im sure it could work out, because after all theyve done it plenty of times before

cost to rent fairgrounds is little over $7000 after all the set up costs and insurance so you guys can do the math from there. And that was us getting a better price by promising to have several events there if you only schedule one th ecost is well over 10K

people barely have money to put gas in their car...a sold out event is highly unlikely, till things improve.

in addition, a lot of the events from a few years back, imo are catering to a limited number of drivers. Those that intend to go pro. 90% of the people on here just want to have fun, with no intensions of caging a car, buying fire gear, etc.

Fairgrounds is a nice place to have fun, with little chance of wrecking. The moroso skidpad was the same. Cater to these drivers, and maybe drifting will come back to sfl.

i dont think i agree.

while we did want to have a place to compete, there has been a lot of events that are accessible to non-pro hopefuls. problem is, they all want to tandem, and dont want to put the safety gear in place to allow for it.

if you are in it for fun, you still want to drive faster and faster as you progress. then you start going to venues that want certain safety stuff just to be on track.

im not saying to go and cage a car before you ever drive, but its not a hobby like skateboarding where you get a board (car) and just goto skate parks (events) and can wear pads (firesuit/cage) if you want and just skate (drift). it costs a LOT of money, and a LOT of time to keep car working right. not to mention the admission to events and tire costs/mounting.

its not anything but the level of dedication and love for the sport. if people REALLY wanted to, like REALLY REALLY wanted to slide, they can find the resources to afford the sport on a 'hobby' level easily. everyone is old enough to drive = old enough to have a JOB. get one, and stop buying video games or fast food 3x a day.

its so easy to want to drift, it takes commitment to be a drifter.
