ebay rotors and pads, are they really bad?

so my wagon needs rotors and pads, and i priced out everything from ebc and it's approx. $550, and then i looked on ebay and saw 88rotors has a set for like $160. has anyone tried the "performance" brakes they sell on ebay? i'm sure its made in china, and i know it's not going to compare to a bbk from project mu or whatever, but how bad is it? if anyone has any experience with these products, please give me your feedback.
 
Ive personally used ebay stuff from 88Rotors.com i believe was their name and they are also a zilvia.com vendor - worked out great (rotors and pads)
 
I bought a car with ebay drilled and slotted rotors and eBay performance pads. A month later so so I did a tune up.on it and decided to get pads from autozone the expensive ones. And the braking actually got worse. Hence, the pads from eBay worked a lot better. Haven't bought them myself since but the ones I drove on were great
