Ter Tec what are you guys trying to accomplish by inforcing a rule on having a 6 point roll bar. Why isnt a 4 point roll bar good enough to compete with?

And a roll cage goes throught the entire car. engine bay/doors/trunk also its welded in. It is not possible to have a 6 point roll cage. It is a roll bar.

First off the Rule is not being imposed by Ter-Tech so stop blaming them.
The rules have been set forth by The driftfest crew and the full rule book can be viewed here http://www.driftfest.com/Rules/rulesver302.pdf.

Rules are meant for your safety. Most of you won't realize it till the day you either die from not having the proper safety equipment, kill a passenger for not having the right safety equipment, or get seriously hurt. I don't wish that upon anyone. If you don't like the rules don't participate. But don't think the rules are going to get more lenient, chances are they will only stricter.

Yea we have all participated in drifting events where minimal safety equipment is required but the bigger drifting becomes the more attention we draw to ourselves with the insurance companies and they are the people who really set the rules.

The rule is not from us it is SCCA and insurance providers rule that is enforced thru out the US. The competition is done by Driftfest and Ter-Tech we are just helping them to come down to Florida for the first annual drift event. With out the 6 point rollcage no one will insure a drift event, so Why don't you contact all the motorsport insurance companies in the US and tell them how it is supposed to be done.
heres a link where you can see what a simple 6 point looks like cage, it would be smart to get it with the roof loop and make it like a cage without the engine bay bars and couple less cross bars

roll cage doesn't go through trunk nor the door and it is possible to have 6 point cage. Instead of the side impact bars going to the floor you tie them into the front bars coming down from the roof loop.
