Next time I think we'll be doing the Triangle Death Trap and the Second Left layout. I hope Justin is able to make it.

Questions/comments/concerns, post them here.

Thank you to everyone who came out. It was a fun evening full of laughter, excitement, and explosions. Special thanks goes out to Conrad, Locko, and Otis for letting me abuse their vehicles in order for me to show them the ways of the Drift Force.

Quick summary of the event:

A surprisingly good turnout allowed us to have more drifters than drag racers. Yes, shocking. But my guess is the rain scared them away. Moving on the gymkhana layout proved to be unpopular with most of the drivers, causing us to end the layout early and switching over to the Second Left layout.

Doing that triggered more people to line up to the grid. One of the first to line up is the infamous World Famous Chris Jackson with his Jackson Performance 240SX. Clearly intent on stealing the spotlight, he succeeded by running his own layout, giving everyone ridealongs, and performing his signature burnouts at the start line. As a consequence, Jackson's performance ( ;) ) inspired others to run their own layouts which resulted in them getting yelled at.

As the night fell I witnessed most drivers show signs of improvement. But there were some who couldn't get it together throughout the night. One such driver was BoostedKouki as he struggled to drift Subzero's KA24DE-powered vehicle. The lack of RB power handicapped his driving abilities as he couldn't find a way to overcome the power difference. He tried to be cool, but all he got was heat. There have been reports that BoostedKouki decided to retire to work on his hair. We expect a full recovery by the time the next event rolls around.

What took me by surprise was the appearances of some of our older SFLDrifters members who decided to stop by to say hello or drive. Retired veteran Vince, otherwise known as Nunook, came out to check how things were going. Paul, otherwise known as shappa, made his spectacularly loud return to the sport with his BMW E30. And finally Ralph, otherwise known as JeepsteR118, also made his return to the sport after a series of setbacks caused him to miss his flight a couple of times.

In the end there was one minor crash, the lights didn't work all the time, and some people got yelled at (Woo PRS). Also we found a missing phone that ended up being roadkill on the track. Turns out the owner of that phone was none other than Buriantsu. If you see him selling a blue Samsung AT&T flip phone in the Classifieds section, ask for pictures of the actual item. The weather treated us well with no rain and a nice cool breeze that kept everyone and our vehicles comfortable throughout the night. And as the event came to a close, we were treated with a Jackson Performance tandem full of lights, music, smoke, and fireworks, giving us a glimpse as to what we can expect at the next exciting round of...
