Difference btwn putting BOV on cold or hot pipe?

Alright so for recirculation reasons it makes sense to have it on the hot side. As far as it bouncing off the throttle body to prevent compressor surge it would make sense to have it on the cold side.

What doesnt make sense to me is why would you want to recirculate hot air as opposed to cold air?

And im really hoping it doesnt make a difference at my power level (stock sr with t25, and basic bolt ons) because im more than likely going to keep my cold pipe and not switch my piping and BOV setup untill i get a bigger turbo way down the road from now
