Diff?? No Idea.

Got a welded in my carro... Maybe a month or so it seems to have gotten messed up, and began to make ALOT of clunking noise while rolling in neutral coming to stops and when my foot is off acceleration. Meant to change/fix it but after about 2 weeks or so the clunking stopped and tbh I was so busy I didn't think nothing of it.

Fast forward to today, I'm driving to work and my car begins to make noise as if a belt was slipping but in the back... Obviously I know their isn't a belt in the back of my car so I was worried.

Left work, and the car didn't do it until i got off the highway and it kept doing it in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear and ONLY during acceleration while moving. Meaning if the car was a stop and I rev it, it doesnt make that belt sounding noise.

SOOOO driving home now the car kept making the noise all the way from 441 n hollywood until i reached home on 441 and davie blvd, and as I began to accelerate I would feel the car like hiccup 2 times if I tried to go faster the whole way home... And then there was a kind of burning smell when I got home and out the car...

So ya.. I have no idea what it is.. If its just the diff? Or what...

Sorry for long story but wanted to give as much info as I could, any input, thanks, need help cause this is my DAILY POS.

This may sound dumb but... Did you put the diff in your car? Did you tighthen everything down properly. Maybe it came loose. I remember my friends diff was making clunking noises and it was coming loose.

I wasn't the one who put it in, bought the car with it, so ya, checked the axles this morning and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary, nothing seems to be loose, BUT i did notice the diff actually had a hole the size of a quarter in it.....

soooo is the drain plug missing? = no fluid = sweeeeeet.

Ya gonna see what I can do by tonight since I gotta go to work now, hopefully it doesn't give me any probs on the way there and back tonight.... Worse comes to worse i got an open i can swap out if its to messed up. So HOPEFULLY thats what it is.

I wouldn't drive it with no fluid... That's a disaster waiting to happen.

I've grenaded a few diff when I had my e30. It's not the greatest feeling.

Gonna have to take a chance with it... I'll be on the turnpike for only about 5-10 mins I'll go relatively slow..

If your shit locks up going any speed. Let's say 55 mph. How many cars are you gonna hit before you stop if your out of control?

5-10 min might be cheaper for a cab or a day off work
