First of all, I know we are grateful for everything and everybody's efforts, I had a blast, considering a first drift event at this venue. Some people have suggestions to be made to make things better. Communication is the key. Lets post them here with all due respect, maturity, and constructive criticism for our saftey first, management of events, return on investment for drivers(money paid vs. level of runs), and increase of level of fun.

Thanks to the planners and promotors as I have said already.

1. Signed liability forms. This isn't to protect me, more importantly you and the venue.
2. Media should not pay for entrance to an event.
3. Announcers should not shout at media when they are on track. This was mainly a pet peeve because the announcer directly shouted me, my other photographer, and spotter down 5-7 minutes BEOFRE the second set of drifting started while we were trying to make our way on track. I waved my badge and he continued to shout.... ugh.
4. More organization at the gate.
5. Although there was K-Rail, it was not down far enough to protect the crowd. Guys were still drifting well past the last corner coming back towards the start line. One bad choku-dori or blown tire, or something, and we've got possible property damage and human carnage. I hate to see al kinds of restrictions, but it's the sue happy country we're in.

Even though this was Tim's first event, I thought it went really well.

i think when it comes to the lay out, it was fun.. I say:
longer event
set up K-rails from starting line (tired of screaming at people)
No drag demo (drifting is big enough to support itself, they saw that yesterday)

Tim did a great job... the problem at the gate was that they werent expecting such a turn out, even one of the countyline guys came up to me and told me that it was one of the biggest crowds he had seen there.

only thing I would say, is drift later, more runs, if it costs more make it cost more, I'd rather pay 100$ get 2x the runs, then pay 55 and get 6, if you are gonna have a drift day once a month, make it a drift day, not 2 hour break for this etc etc. All in all I love the place, Ill go again but prolly just for support. The ammount of practice the people that need it got it was very minimal. it was more of a demo if you ask me due to all the other venues happening the same day. Seemed like they were introducing drifting to local people. I was under the impression we were drifting till either it was dark or we were out of tires. 4pm was when it ended, need to go till AT LEAST 5pm. This is prolly why the Ter-Tech events have brought such great practice events for us recently, Moroso they allowing all the run grps to go whenever they wanted last time was a great idea, people were always comin off to do stuff to there car, let it cool down, take a break, between it all and 26 drivers or whatever the number of practice runs were upped rediculously. Grps are nice, also I was uninformed about A B C grps, some of the best drivers there were in Grp B, and some GREAT drivers were in C i think the announce needs to read a book Drifting 101.

My 2cents

set the starting line back a little more cause we almost got taken out by kyle and ryan 2x
Really? Not sure I remember. Was this during or at the end of a run? Sorry man but the only people I rember almost running over were when they called the event and I was trying to get back to the pits and people did not seem to care that I was in a car and continued to walk in front of me...

suggestions:
-+1 on liability forms although I think lawsuits suck they are a reality.
-would like to see a day dedicated for drifting, not drift & drag. I think the turnout was sufficent to make the case that drift only days will still bring people out to watch.
-more safety for photographers. If not for their safety then for the drivers peace of mind. I know I was really paying attention to not be the guy the wipe out the photographers.
-Please God keep the announcer at least 50 FEET from any mics. Please

All in all it was a very fun event and I had a blast. I know there will be a learning curve for putting on events and I thought it went really well considering this was the first one. Please keep them coming :bigthumbu

Well, overall it was a good event :bigthumbu . I was watching some of my few good runs(which were earlier in the day w/ less photographers) I had and also the runs from the 1st Countyline demo I did and I noticed my "good lines" would send me about 2-3feet away from where the photographers were standing later in the day.

They were also in what I call the "under-steer line". If anyone entered fast and for whatever reason understeered they would plow into the photographers. I love you guys for making us look good event after event and I don't want one mistake mine or anyone else to cause something that bad to happen.

The only other thing is giving the drivers more runs but I talked to Tim at the event and he knows all about that and will adress it. Oh and Tim I'll be sending you a PM about something soon ;) .

more k-rails running alll the way to finish line......please

more runs in...(later event)

With that track though since you come in and return in the same path you will always be in some understeer line. It's the name of the game.

Yeah sorry I should've said it more in detail. I'm not worried about the returning line at all, I'm more concerned about the entry one. One little mistake by anyone and you have a car understeering into photographers straight on.

I feel we needto start early like 9 ,and end when ever we run out of tires.
Also need blowers to blow the rocks off the track when people go off.
Don't raise to price too much cause TER-TECH at moroso was $75, and I ran from 9 to 4. Got like 50 runs in.

Not to sound mean I honestly I feel we should get a rain check on this event. Due to lack of runs because when you can count the amount of runs on your hands without repeating a finger. You know something is not right.

i suggest we have an educated announcer
someone who actually knows the drift community and knows what cars are what
i heard him say .... is that a civic?? are you serious???
we need to have a real announcer
not someone who's all over the place and has no clue what he's doing or what drifting is at all

ter tech events rock !!!!!

I agree with the more Krails thing.
Also who ever parked the Braggin Rights Cars where they did is one brave SOB.

They should...
1. Have some control over where people are going in the event, it was a disaster, people driving onto the track and track officials doing NOTHING but standing around.
2. Fix their ambulance!! They were there all day trying to start it and it wouldn't start. If someone would have gotten hurt that day, there wouldnt be a working ambulance.
3. Get a different announcer. One that doesnt scream at the top of his lungs on a megaphone. One that KNOWS about cars. And one that DOESNT speak every second of the entire day repeating the same crap over and over and over.

krails
7am start time
people that know how to run an event
free media
Guillermo as MC
more umbrella girls

The problem with the announcer was the info he was giving. He was good at pumping up the crowd, though. Guillermo would kill on the mic. GUILLERMO ON THE MIC BITCHES! Also, we need the day to be longer. They should set up some lights and stuff so we can drift at night as well.

Definately Guillermo as announcer.
Start on time, and end later in the day. This is the least amount of runs I EVER got at an event.

I think it would be better if the spectators were parked in the skidpad and the drivers were on the main road. spectators could go from their cars to the bleachers without crossing the cars lined up to drift, and we wont have to walk so damn far in order to get around.
but then again we'd have to make sure no one steals stuff as they walk by our cars?

a couple more k rails and possible big cones with a tape going from one to another inorder to draw a line for spectators not to cross.

More Runs!(I know I got there too late) and the announcer was a bit annoying, I was paying more attention to him while I was on the course.... and the whole 3 mile hike from the cars to the stands wasnt too appealing to the people I came with... they lost interest in spectating very quickly after the rain and the fact that they HAD to walk so far in order to get back to the car.

Vote for Guillermo on the Mic!

and I LOVE the fact that the event was about 35 min from my house, BIG :bigthumbu

ONE THING I NOTICED, WELL HEARD A CROWED OF PEOPLE saying they were able to walk right in without paying i was pissed because if i paid so should they so i don't know who's in charge of that but i think that matters toward the success of these events so yea a lil more security at the entrance, i think the entrance should be moved back more toward the beginning to resolve this problem......you guys made sa good poin in safety and i was wondering y the track wasnt made into a complete circle? i know it was mentioned but i cant find it so y wasn't it done???
