clutch pedal???

ok so am having a lil problem with my clutch pedal..lately the pedal stays back. not all the way but back enough. i can still drive and shift normally.but the clutch is really short. wat could this be?

slave.... more then likely but it could be something else. change the slave they are like 16$ new from napa or where ever.

check behind your clutch pedal on the connecting rod...see if any clutch fluid is leaking from the master cylinder. check your clutch fluid resevoir while your at it??

My friends 240 does the same thing, i found out that it was the spring that helps the pedal return to place. It is old and doesn't have the strength to fully return the pedal. I had replaced the master, slave, and had properly adjusted the pedal and it still had the issue with the pedal not returning.

clutch master cylinder is about the only thing it could be unless something went wrong with your clutch but if it shifts fine its gotta be the cyliner. You may also have aleak some where you can't see.

dude its like 16 bucks just replace it. If you lose pedal pressure its prety much dead.

why don't you try bleeding the clutch system see if it gets better and then worse over time. if so you have a leak somewhere...i didn't see anything leaking but i had a crappy autozone clutch MASTER cylinder, replaced it with a nissan OEM one and it was fine. If you pump the pedal a few times does it get stiffer?
