Clutch feel, what effects it?

I've gone through a lot of clutches before, aftermarket and oem.
But I've never really understood why some feel almost stock and they're a 6puck ACT HD clutch (Like mine).
And I've also had stage 2 Exedy clutches in my old sr20 and the pedal was a lot stiffer.

Or is there a way to adjust the pedal feel?

Make sure your lines have no air and are not leaking.

Remove the loopback.

Other than that, its really the pressure plate.

Thanks for the useful info you guys.
I'm suprised you say it's just the pressure plate.
Because the ACT stage 3 clutch I have came with the "Heavy duty pressure plate" and it feels just like stock.
It's awesome

^^Yeah like I said, different companies make them different ways. Moving leverage points and changing spring pressures does different things. You could have 2 different pressure plates from 2 different companies, both have the same clamping force, but feel different. Just the way it is.

its all in the pressure plates like mentioned above. I'v been running a exedy 3 puck disc with an act hd pressure plate cause i hated the feel from the soft exedy plate. Much better grab and about a perfect combo. imo of coarse.

my spec stage 3 feels really easy compared to most clutches but it hold and thats all that counts
