Well, I been checking some shit out.

z32 rack vs s13/14 rack vs s13 hicas rack

The z32 sems the be the deal!!

Which means less turns lock to lock. They use the same steering rack bushings too. And the tie rods are interchangeable as well.

z32 not sure which one this is for yet. It may be the TT or the NA. I am researching now.
Steering type Rack/ pinion, power assist
Ratio 14.8:1
Turns, lock to lock 2.4

Steering type Rack/ pinion, power assist
s13 non hicas ratio is 17.1:1 (same for S14)
3.1 turns lock to lock

Hicas rack 2.6 turns lock to lock
Ratio for hicas is 14.9:1

So all in all z32 = the shit!!!!!!!!!!

I havent tried installing the z32 rack yet. But when my solid steering rack bushings get here (thank you rinkya.com) I will.

very interesting... thank god that i have a hicas car and can live with the .2 turn till lock. haha

does it matter if you get a turbo or non turbo z32?? now there is something

Thats what I am trying to confirm now... I posted on 300zxclub for info. I will update this post as info comes. I have a z32 na rack outside.
 
sounds like a cool mod for someone with better coordination than me :D i can barely catch that damn wheel as it sits now cuz its soo fast... less turns = more spins for me :(
 
that would be sweet if it works, but Im skeptical, as the z32 has a double wishbone front suspension, so I dunno if the tie rod where it goes into the spindle would be @ too much of an angle on a s chassis car. If it would be close you could get some of the adjustable tie rods that correct for bump steer.
 
i dought that it would be a problem cause they share the same tension rods. and if thats the case then the front lower control arms have to be in the same place no?
 
What if you use S14 front arms? or just add the Battle Version adj. heim joint?
Im speaking for an S13.

the tension rods are the same, but it might not work for the same reason you cant use all the front suspension components from a z on your s car, double wishbone = z, macpherson strut = s car. I dunno Im just sayin...
belive me, Id like a rack like that, but the s chassis hicas rack is quite nice, ownin a hicas car before (even tho the rear steer was very unusual, esp. with stiff coilovers!)
