CAS on an s13 tranny going into an s14??

Currently I'm putting in an sr20 tranny with an s13 ka bellhousing.. Do I need the crank angle sensor hooked up for the car to run? Or will it just throw me a code? I dont really care about a check engine light or anything.

I've read both that the car will not run without the CAS and I've also heard that it doesn't matter at all. Anybody know for sure?

im putting the s13 transmission into an s14

And can I just take the CAS off of the auto tranny and fab it onto the manual tranny if need be?

wtf are we talking about? a CAS = CRANK ANGLE SENSOR which is located on the head and not the tranny.

Crank position sensor then? Its the sensor that's on the bellhousing of the transmission.

I'm so confused lol shouldnt the s13 tranny work in an s14? What would I need to do to get it to work? And why do some people say it's not a problem at all?
