Bushing Problem

Hey, so I got a welded diff I'm gonna put in and I decided might as well get some solid Al Bushings to go with it....but I can't get the old bushings out!!! I don't have anything to cut them with or a torch... any suggestions on how to get the bushings out? Everything I find online just says "remove old bushings"...What I did try was using a pipe flange and a threaded rod with some washers to see if I could press them out (SPL parts says to do this to put the Al ones in) the washers just folded up inside the bushing...Should I just go buy a torch? lmk

thanks

yeah those are a bitch to get out

you can go buy a Map gas torch at discount auto and that works pretty good you'll still have to do some cutting. a hack saw works pretty good but it wears you out.

umm........ are you talking about aluminum sub frame bushings? or just the rear diff mount bushings? (which i dont know if they are available in aluminum.) Try using an air chisel. Thats what I did for my sub frame bushings.

I'm talking about the diff mount bushings. there are 4 bushings, 2 in the diff and 2 in the subframe. the 2 in the subframe are the ones I can't get. I got the Al ones from spl parts, so they're definitely available. I don't have any air tools, and I bet a hacksaw/torch will be cheaper than buying the air tools...of course long term....nm...thanks guys

any other ideas?

update: burned all the rubber out...but still havin an issue with the outer metal sleeve...thanks for all the help guys
