Back when i had an s12 (2 1/2 yrs ago) i wanted an fj so badly... they were so hard to find at the time.No one was importing them. :mad:

I wonder if they have become more available now a days...?
 
yeah why did you sell your car? I thought we were suppose to go out drifting sometime in our s12's
 
At the time there was'nt much aftermarket support. Im not even sure if theres any now. i intercooled it and put an exhuast. It ran pretty good for a while. I was also going to put a t25 on it cuz that stock t2 was uh... :boring:

I just found a Great deal on my s13.Also the squating on the 300zx like rear suspension was killing me. We can still go drifting though. :bigthumbu
 
Well the squating is eliminated with poly subframe bushings, and who needs aftermarket make your own shit. Anybody can buy shit.

Ohhh Yeah an a KA swap is easy as hell into an S12, its like 4 wires you have to splice, there you go aftermarket for the motor, and you can convert the front to S13 Hubs and use S13 front coilovers and rears you can make coilovers and use Mustang AGX shocks, not too hard
 
hmm... or i can just buy parts and install them on my car? sounds much easier... plus even though you can eliminate the squat i still dont like the factory suspension design.
 
I've found it plenty fun, and what you don't like challenges eh? 240's are too easy , I wouldn't know what to do with myself If I had one
 
Challenges? So everyone who owns a 240 doesnt like challenges? is that what your saying? Whats so hard about an s12? Ive actually done alot more work on my 240 then i ever did on my s12. ;)

Not because it is Challenging. Because theres more AFTERMARKET for 240's. Infact i got bored with the s12. Its so limited... Let me tell you this, goodluck getting your s12 to out handle a 240... :laugh:
 
See the lack of aftermarket is what makes the cars challenging, you have to use your head to fix problems and improve the car unlike a S13 where all you do is get online and buy something

I don't care if It out handles a 240 Its the gratification that I had the imagination to create parts for the car myself and do my own thing than what everybody else does, I mean Look at Seans S12 that thing is Gangster and he spent about 2K on it including the car and it out handles most of the 240's on this forum, not all of course but for 2K thats awesome

I understand what your getting at. Theres similar things that we do to 240's aswell...."challenging". for instance, 5 lug, vlsd swap, motor swap or turbo the ka, etc... Every car is a challenge itself if you are using it for Performance purposes.

On another note, i rather buy a part online that i know has been tested and garaunteed to work and last for a long time then make something myself and not know when it can break.

Reliability...;)

there are too many pages to read on about this i reall think unless you have owned both u shouldnt talki have had all 3 motors so far my favorite one was the CA even though it wasnt as fast as the sr because it was less modded but it was fun to drive, I liked not worrying about rocker crap and stupid aluminum blocks but w/e the fact is this is about ka vs. sr and i think the ka is a good DRAG motor and the sr makes a goos drift motor you can make a ka-t a drift motor but ur just wasting ur $$$ i have owned both so i know first hand and for my next proj. im only choosing between CA or RB so SCREW YOU GUYS IM GOING HOME....

Yeah I cut my rear springs that was ghetto, but my whole 5 lug swap and custom made steering spacers were legit. Im sorry I cant afford rear springs But I had to do something about the rear sagging on the stock springs, so I replaced them with much stiffer Z31 springs which were to tall and I loped 2 coils off with and angle grinder the rear feels much stiffer with less squat and it sits slightly lower

you guys are still at this.. and whats wrong with making your own parts.... how do you think all those companies started???? answer plzzz .. don't rain on his parade because he dosen't have enough money to buy parts so is in a way forced to fab some custom shit up... he can prolly slide that S12 with cut springs then you can with a fully built drift car!!!

i say your wasting your $$ because to make a ka-t a very reliable drift motor you gotta build and if you build and put a turbo good enough for drifting (the right size) you'll be missing out on all the power the ka would have made with a bigger turbo on more boost witch is why i call it a DRAG motor because most places like KA-T.org and etc the ka was build for drag racing not drifting so w/e i dont feel like typing right now i will continue later :bigthumbu
 
i think the people on ka-t.org aren't all into the jdm stuff all that much hence all the drag racing and not the emphasis on drifting and useing the ka instead of the sr
