Brake upgrade

What's up guys, I need to do my brakes and want to upgrade, I was thinking either 300 or q45, both with a flush and SS lines. I want better braking obviously, but I'm not making or planning on making huge power, and I'm also running stock s13 rims, I read the q45 clears better than 300 and they're a cheaper upgrade, is this my best bet? Any personal pros or cons?

I'm running the q45's up front and they have plenty of stopping power. The swap is fairly easy and they clear right on stock rims and most aftermarket stuff. You will have a brake bias towards the front so I would recommend you do a couple stops to get used to it. Also, you'd be surprised what a difference a good set of pads will make.

Thanks guys that's pretty much what I thought, I was wondering about the bias cause I know the 300 is fairly extreme if your not used to it, and I'm counting on the pads, lines and flush alone making quite a difference

300zx or bigger or dont bother.
Its all in the pads.

My buddy has 300zx calipers with some awesome pads and VR4 rotors. That s14 stops like a miata with z brakes.

i have 300 front and rear, SS lines, hawk hp pads and stock rotors. stop like a mofo, def. worth the money

Then something is wrong. Bad lines, pads, fluid - something. ITA 240's are forced by rules to run stock brakes/rotors and i know for sure the stock brakes are capable of locking up track tires.

why not just get SS Lines, EBC Red Stuff Pads, Cross Drilled & Slotted Rotors, and Motul Brake Fluid.

i can but im just usually very easy on the brakes unless i have to stop quickly, i never lock them on the street

i can get a pretty good deal on q45's which is why i asked, but i think thats what im gonna do for my setup i dont need anything larger than a good working system

dude if you can pick up a projectcar mag issue 10 (i believe), it has a white s13 coupe on the cover and read the brake upgrade/setup article for the 240sx, and youll do great with a budget. I know i did.
