BMW>Nissan

Rwdrift where do u stand on saftey? BMW i take it?

Having totalled my s13 coupe and crashed BMWs several times, I can say from experience that BMWs take a MUCH greater beating than Nissans. Especially on the earlier models (S13s) where Nissan had the sliding seat belt, which was pure garbage to begin with.

In present day, I'll still side with BMW, but I have no experience to vouch that.

Name a rwd Honda that's in the same price range as a 240, e30,e36, ae86, mk3 supra, 300zx, FC....again poor assumption  .... :bigthumbu j/k

Just because there is no rwd cars at the price range of what you just mentioned does not mean Honda is not able to build quality cars. You just get lost on the ricer misconception and don't see the good that Honda manufactures. It's rare to see, but its out there.

As for fwd, that's just a horrible design. But again, they do know how to make the best of it.

S2000's steering rack sucks for drifting.....but I want it's engine. I always thought Honda's made really good race engines.

That is true, but the car was not intended for drifting. Have you actually tried taking some corners with an S2000? The steering rack design really shines at that time.

I feel so unsafe in mine. Luxury isnt safety, Ive known of BMW's getting owned cuz' there flimsy. Cant say for Nissan ill let u know when i get the Z and fuck up :p

Whoever said luxury was safety? You're assuming things now.

Flimsy? How so? Show examples, because I have many to show. But for the drifters, many will remember Harri vs Santi.

Im not assuming im restating what a friend just said to me. Flimsy as in getting onto a head on collison and the whole front of the car (firewall to bumper) crumbling like a beer can.

How fast was the accident? How would a Nissan compare in that same exact accident? In a 20mph head on collision, my s13's radiator support was crushed against the motor already.

In a very similar condition, the e30 went head on against a cement light pole and the motor still ran (aside the fact the fan clutch was stuck on the radiator)

I call that safety, if it hadn't crumpled the person in the BMW would have died. Simple as that. The reason cars crumple is to absorb the energy of the impact its not because they are flimsy.

Yeah, they're called "CRUMPLE ZONES" for a reason.

BMW's are definitely beefier than your average Jap car. Flimsy? No way. S-chassis are flimsy.

I've had a E30 and that car car felt like a tank. I literally felt htat it can go through my other nissans lol

as many S13's and S14s i have seen crashed including my self, i think they hold there own. and im not totally sure but when they did crash tests i think the S13 on a head on collision got 5 stars. and yes the radiator support of the S13s do suck balls.

Nissan VS BMW, Santi VS Harri Bmw had a cracked plastic trim Nissan was totalled all the way to the tranny tunnel, If he had a passenger the passenger would never walk again. Nissan is not even compareable to BMW on safety. Look at my run in Denver I hit the wall harder than anyone there and was the only one making a comeback out of 9 cars, all others were Nissan that got totalled on the same wall, only two of the cars hit the wall hard enough to move the barriers and one of them was me.
But I think Nissan builds better quality cars, just look at anyone of them that has original paint and trim at our events, they are in immaculate shape. LOL

Yeah you made that barrier your bitch

some cars dont crumbled at 60 head on one i can say is the s13, givenn he did die (no seat belt flew out front window. It did not crumble nor did parts go through firewall which ive heard has happened on a 330i
