Bladder for you and the rest of the guys...

Old *** repost. Here's what happened since:

The Atom has been brought to the US and is for sale. How and where you can buy it, I dont know. Models range from $40k to $60k. I do believe they are sold as an Off-Highway Vehicle, but a tag and registration can be attained for it.

Yea it's beautiful, hard to believe it's powered by just a supercharged Civic Type-R motor... if I have a successful career, I'm definitely gonna invest in one of those. Screw Ferrari when you can have something faster for considerably cheaper (I think the high-end one is about $55,000). I think it's the best bang for your life; period.

Edit: My fault, I haven't seen the video in a bit and got the motor confused

Actually, it's a K20 engine... which is from the Civic Type R. But, the US's Atom (Built by Brammo in Oregon) will have different engine options, and the only engine offered in the same spec as the UK is the top end supercharged K20. The US Atoms will be built with US spec engines, both Honda and GM's.

Here's a list of costs:
Brammo Ecotec 2.2 $35,000 145 HP/ 155 Ft./lbs.
Brammo Ecotec 2.4 $38,000 171 HP/ 163 Ft./lbs.
Brammo Ecotec 2.0 Supercharged $40,000 171 HP/ 163 Ft./lbs.
Honda K20 (Estimated) $40,250 USDM K20z3 200-225HP
Honda K20 Supercharged $45,750 (K20z3) 290-300HP

Nice. I don't see the point in lowering the output of the vehicle for cost purposes --- of course it will still be blazingly fast; but I'd rather have the 200+ hp variants... but then again, it's about selling to as wide of an audience as possible that includes people of all budgets and intentions.

The 145hp low end models are said to keep up with a Porsche 911 Turbo up to 100mph. I dont know about you, but that's stupid fast as it is.

Mind you those prices listed are without the road package, hence not street legal. Any optionals in the car will jack up the price. A supercharged K20 with all the optionals could break the 60k barrier.

If someone is short on cash and wants to daily one (I sure as hell would btw) they can opt for the low end models with the road package.

I agree, I still said it was fast, man. Stupidly so. That's why I (tried to) mention that's perhaps the reason they have low(er) output models; not everyone has the money for the full-on package, and not everyone wants to go as fast. I just think it'd be awesome to rip the streets with the bragging rights of the highest-output model.
