not like there is much difference between hawthorne heights and metal core
I'm not about to argue about metal bands on a drifting forum lol. All you pointed out is something evolving for the better. Depending on situations, in general don't regret what you did in the past, it's what made you who you are now(hopefully for the good lol).
Oh and after Vulgar Display of Power it really pushed them up along side bands that were around like Metallica, Megadeath, Slayer, etc. It just sucked that, like many rock bands, they self-destructed because of drugs, egos, etc. Keep in mind I agree with many of the bands posted here, I enjoy them all :bigthumbu.
If you read up in some books they sorta talk about how Pantera was at a crossroads and decided to revamp who they were and went that current way.
Avenged Sevenfold was metal, along the way they saw the light($$$) and started making albums like this one.
Their best selling album to date, and the reason I don't listen to them anymore.
now days all you get a is a bunch of screaming fag holding one chord and banging their hair...
I totally disagree with that. Yeah, the new bands scream and whatnot, but if you look at the guitar riffs, they are fucken blazing fast and complicated. Listen to Between The Buried and Me. IMO, they have some genious shit. All That Remains also has good guitar riffs and solos. The Human Abstract also kills. You just gotta look past what's popular. I respect your opinion of the older bands though, although they are not my preference.
Dude look at dragonforce... and their guitar player they are both great musicians but all their songs sound the same... this goes to pretty much every shredder out there.... The thing i do admire about the new metal bands is the fact that they are including solos... something that almost died in the past 10 years. I do like some of the stuff out there but like i said before, long live the old bands....
I dont know, modern metal has lost its rebellious attitude especially in the mainstream crowd
