Pantera made history because there was nothing else like it at the time, It was either listen to Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, or some other Grunge rock band or listen to Pantera, I chose the latter. One thing I don't like about Pantera is how they pretty much sold out there old style and completely changed their persona, and for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about...

I'm not about to argue about metal bands on a drifting forum lol. All you pointed out is something evolving for the better. Depending on situations, in general don't regret what you did in the past, it's what made you who you are now(hopefully for the good lol).

Oh and after Vulgar Display of Power it really pushed them up along side bands that were around like Metallica, Megadeath, Slayer, etc. It just sucked that, like many rock bands, they self-destructed because of drugs, egos, etc. Keep in mind I agree with many of the bands posted here, I enjoy them all :bigthumbu.

and i do have to pay homeage to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. Without them metal would not be were it is now, especially due to Priest and Sabbath

+1 people must pay respects to the people who made it possible for all these bands to come out. I always liked old school everything cars, planes, music, etc. So old school ftw :thumbup:.

Pantera is pretty much the only old school metal band I like.

Unearth is one of my favorite metal/hardcore bands. I like their Endless and The Oncoming Storm EPs the most.
