Bad motor swap issues??

Anyone had any issues with getting a bad motor from a vendor?
The reason I as is I bought a new/used SR20DET (S13) from one of the local shops and when it got installed it had 0 oil pressure on startup and sounded like a diesel truck idling...... I had 2 ASE mechanics supervise the install and double check all my work before firing it up, as well as stand their the first time it got fired up.... Now I have to pull the motor back out and take it back to mia and see if they have another one, just seems sketchy I guess as from what KeysSR says it's a pretty hosed motor.:eek2:
 
that sucks! and i hope you can get your motor replaced. you just loss some time there.. where you got the motor from ? and you have the 30 day warranty...rigth ?

JDM of South Florida provided the motor... Tried calling on saturday and got VM, I will be up their first thing Monday morning with the motor to see what they are going to do. Yeah, 30 day warranty. Is this normal? Also the motor was missing things, CAS, vacuum lines, little stuff, is that normal too?

Also, new oil, oil filter, and plugs before it got fired for the first time.... back to napa again on monday I guess.
 
if you paid for a full swap ( engine,tranny ,ecu..etc etc ) its not normal that is missing a CAS or some other shit. but why you took that engine to ur house when it dosnt even has a cas ? and its missing some other things ? GL and i hope you get another engine back for that one.

Not a full swap but a complete motor and trans.... The car had an SR in it before so all I needed was a fresh motor... Just missed the CAS, the rest was little crap, but still annoying.
 
if is not a LONGBLOCK. and is like u said.. full motor with tranny..must have the cas! but anyways..best thing to do is call them on monday try to exchange that engine before time ends .

Drove all of the way up their toda, brought KeysSR with me.... He did not have another red-top so he said to take the only black-top he had... and then while we are finishing unloading it in the truck he's like 200.00 more please! WTF!!! Not my fault he sold me a shitty motor, so I was like give me a refund of my original purchas price.... he could not do that, "read the warranty" so it was pony up and pay another 200.00 for a motor that did not look 100% or wait 3 moths for another red-top.... I now have 200.00 less in my account, and one shop on my list of do not visit.... :mad:
 
That really suks if the motor was in ur truck already.. U should go,lol that's crazy they suckss!!thanks for letting us know what happend with them.
 
Damn... u shoulda told em the 200 covers ur labor takin it back out! Thats bs that they waited til the motor was loaded to hit you up for extra $$$.. I woulda drove away

"They dont' cover labor in and out of the vehicle, it's in the warranty" Their is also no way that motor has less than 60K on it unless they NEVER changed the oil.
