Annoying sound?

Ever since i lowered my idle down to around 1k, an annoying sound has been coming up. But when i get the rpms at 1300 or above the noise goes away. I was reading that it might be the timing chain rattle.

Does anyone know what im talking about?

remove the valve cover and check the timing chain and the timing chain guide. most people remove the timing chain guide cause its useless anyways and it brakes

I saw that timing chain rattle diy and i think thats what it is. Kinda like a rattle, so im going to do the diy.

But i dont need the guide? I thought i had to replace it?

most people remove it cause they brake very easy and can damage your motor or brake your timing chain

i did it and it was painless. but watch out, i've heard some people talk about the timing chain jumping links if there is too much slack in it. figure out why you're getting the rattle first. your tensioner gets its pressure from the oil pressure. if your chain is hitting the gaurd, your tensioner isn't doing its job, which means not enough oil pressure. that's the problem i'm having. so, my temporary solution was to put the gaurd back on with a couple of washers as spacers, 2 or 3, between the gaurd and the spot where it was mounted and it stopped rattling. now my oil pump is really failing and it still rattles. but yeah, my 2cents.

Where can the get the sealer from? And do i have to get a certain kind?

Advance auto parts doesnt have the rtv liquid gasket sealer.

Can you tell me where i have to put the sealer on for the camshaft sprocket cover and the valve cover?

Cant tell from the pics in the DIY for the timing chain rattle.
