Good luck with that :confused: I got lucky on a lot of my parts... my SR Koyo was only $200. guages were $25 each with a pod included etc..

Keep an eye out and buy stuff as you can afford it/find good deals... I got lucky but normally you would pay more if you need the parts asap.

i vote ka. gosh, i dont think you understand all the small crap thats going to send you off the wall with putting in a different engine. all of you smartasses dont ask me in particular what is going to go wrong or is going to be an issue, but many things will have to be delt with.

where the heck is 3500 installed?? you arent gonna get it tuned for usdm mode? :eek:

I think a lot of people don't take into consideration all of the crap that needs to get done when you swap... $3500 is CHEAP installed.... IDK what kind of a setup you would be getting with that.

if you're not doing it yourself.. XAT... but even then I have heard both good and bad things about XATs swaps, seems the company they buy their SRs from has been sending out bad motors.
 
You can't blame a shop for something like that unless they do nothing about it - which is not their style.

And to do a swap and stay "the way nissan made it" stock you'd need a full front clip which would cost quite a bit more than $2000. Kenrik is pretty much right about the swap and doing it right - replacing the water pump before you know if something's wrong with it is a bit extreme, but he has the right idea.

yes they do kind of...i guess my trubo has been lieaking since I got it form them. all the seal are bad.

I've been the KA and SR route. I think I'm gonna go RB25 this time around. A close friend of mine has one here in Jax that is ridiculous. with few upgrades it makes a hell of a great motor. That, and the pulse is soo silky smooth.
 
I know i am mod now, but I have to ask the other mods; Why is this thread on the Technical section. he is not asking oh i have a problem with my engine he is asking for opinions. instead he should be making his own decision.
 
I did f00ls. There have been similar topics to this in the Tech section before (Atleast I think), so I felt this topic was more appropriate here. Besides, if it would've stayed in the Off-Topic section, kwkouki would've posted some random disturbing pic which would've made things go off-topic. :ugh:
