A more reliable KA-T

Im holding a steady 230whp at 8lbs on a t4 turbo right now on stock internals.. just fuel management and tune... Its my daily and i want it to be as reliable as possible, not looking for big power any time soon... any ideas ?

KEEP IT AT 8PSI NOTHING HIGHER, if anything go down to 6psi. I'm a huge KA-T fan it should be fine as long as your "tuning" and fuel managment is up to par.

What are you using for tunning? What size injectors are you running? are you on stock MAF? Are you looking for more power?

Post your Turbo Setup. :bigthumbu

Ditch the Sr injectors and get some 550's. I wouldnt go higher then 12lbs on the stock pistons with a t4. I suggest you get a BTM and a Enthalpy/Jwolf.

Much more reliable setup. Do you have Emanage Blue, + Ignition/Fuel harness?

you must have made a typo, because the msd btm (boost timing module) retards ignition advance based off manifold pressure. If he bought a tuned ecu he wouldnt need that. a btm is commonly used in conjunction with a safc for ignition control.

12psi.......... manifold pressure is only a number. I wouldnt go over 260whp.

plx wideband

I think you need to do a little more homework on which widebands give better resolution, I did not choose a plx wideband.

Thanks, I was sleepy. :boring:

The reason I said I wouldn't go over 12lbs is because he will be running too high of a duty cycle on those injectors. 260whp is also just a number. By throwing a hp figure out there you aren't really saying much.

Actually horsepower is a unit of measurement for the amount of work is produced by torque. So I am not incorrect in referencing a horsepower number. If you want to throw sand ill be more correct and give you a torque number, 260lb\ft.

My friend maxed out sr20 injectors on his t3 compressor at 8psi of boost with fuel pressure set at 43.5psi atmospheric. So uhhhh, I wouldnt go over the 247whp 229lb/ft that he made with 370cc injectors.

Funny cuz we just dyno'd at 250whp on sr injectors t3 compressor. No fuel problems what so ever.

Throwing a Hp figure makes no sense because he isn't asking how much power can he get. So the parts he is using need to be considered. The maximum output and efficiency of each part also needs to be considered. Or else he will just max everything out and think he is safe as long as hes well under 260hp, with the info you are providing.

I love this thread after much contemplation im deciding to KA-T my soon to mine again SIL80 and i am determined not to make the same mistakes as last time LOL of all my setups my KA-T was my favorite so i figured hey y not eh just to piss people off when the see a KA-T RHD SIL80 it will be priceless now i got a question, on the ignition system i have done my research this time on fuel management and tuning bu i am still fuzzy on what systems ar available for the KA i am looking to get 350hp daily drivin and 400-450hp on high boost, plus id like to know the names of a few good machine shops in miami also what spark plug would i buy and were to get em?because its been a while and if im not mistaken for boost i need to run colder plugs correct me if im wrong? thank you AND SORRY FOR THE CLUSTERFUCKED POST LOL i feel like a noob again i use to know all this stuff by memory but since i havnt been thinking about it latley im confused on my facts :(

its just funny to see someone talk about building a 400hp ka-t and the only question they ask is what spark plugs they need!!!! lol at motor buildin noobs!

:p its the only thing im interested in not only the spark plugs im talking the ignition oly upgrade i do are iridium plugs then wires cap rotor and a msd coil. im not sure were to get colder plugs for a ka? last time i rebuilt a ka was like 4 yrs ago after that i was messing with ca's and sr's so excuse my noob questions but noob i am not ;) look i asked a simple question if your such a profesional y is it you couldnt answer my question  :bigthumbu

if i wasnt in another country i would have probably found out myself but because im soo bored with nothing to do right now im just thinking or things i need and i want feedback so either you help me or you cant simple as that, i already know what else i need and dont LOL at me because im no motor building noob i will admit i have never done a fully aftermarket rebuild but i have put a motor together form the ground up and it ran strong and fine im just going a different route this time so the little things i have forgotten need refreshing so please keep dumb comments to yourself if theres no information at the end, ok? thank you

lol 260hp? Im at 280hp oh noes its going to blow(9lbs of boost). You guys need to tune you motors and not just slap shit together and run it on the street. Lol im on the dreaded safc 2 and 480cc injectors and some timing retarded on the distributor. My friend is going to be doing a rom tune on it soon, lol im going to be running more boost. I will let you guys know the numbers and a dyno sheet soon.

hey, gay rings 14 year old, i forgot to tell you how mutch of a badass you are in your shit driveability ka-t with the 280 hp....and a s-afc...s-afc...and u talk about throwing shit together....i forgot s-afc is the way to go....i heard they run the new neo's on the space shuttles to make up from the rich dip when coming back into the atmosphere
