5 lug conversion....

Do i really need a 5 lug conversion for my s13? The wheels i want come in 4 lug pattern as well as 5 but do i really need it? Im asking because i want to drift and im going rb20 but idk if being on the oem 4 lug setup withstands the beating of drifting

The reason behind going 5 thug is not because they're "stronger" lol. It's simply because people desire a better wheel selection. There are plenty of 4 thuggers that drift xdc/pro-am out there. "Boxmod" (a member on here) is a hardcore 4 thugger and he has a v8 bro. So yeah. It's up to you.

Isn't it also for brake upgrades. I thought more 5 lug wheels options have more brake clearance?

So if you go with a more powerful engine it'll be harder to stop so its recommended to get a brake upgrade. I thought z32 brakes (which is the most common) don't allow stock 4 lugs rims.

Edit: looking over my post it looks that all those questions are easy to Google but its just what I've been told and hasn't interested me enough to research so disregard it if its ignorance.

true, but you can run plenty of upgraded brake setups on 4 thug. Ex. Z32, q45 etc. Just redrill the brotors. And as for clearance, their are plenty of 4 thug, overpriced wheels out there that will clear bigger brakes i.e. brotas and some xxr's.

If you guys have done a 5 lug before how much did it cost you? Cuz the reason why i dont want to do it is to save money. Now if ppl tell me that i really need them i will. I know i need more braking power but is it cheaper just to upgrade my oem brakes?

Im getting the ROTA-IKR's which come in the 5 lug and 4 lug 114.3. Thats why if i dont need the 5 lug ill just get the 4 lug wheels and be done with it. If not ima do the 5 lug and run s14 se wheels for a while then.

just do it u go from shit old hubs and bearings to brand new. ebay is 300 shipped. people hav had the ebay hubs for years and there fine. they use oem bearings

Can anyone please tell me what parts i need exactly? For example if i buy the ichiba conversion kit what else would i need to get or do? Or if i wannna do the z32 or s14 conversion?

you dont need s14 calipers. you need full ichiba s13 5 lug hubs. 300 shipped i think. then autozone get s14 se model rotors (5 lug) and done

i think i paid 80 bucks at autozone for duralast brake rotors. all 4 brand new

its the same stopping power. if you want better brakes get z32s or if i were you just make sure your brake pads are meaty and your straight. s13s only have one piston calipers and they arent that strong but who needs in when the gas in on the right and the clutch is on the left. :)

Holy crap bro, maybe ive been on zilvia too much but SEARCH! No need for all the damn questions... google S13 5 Lug conversion/ How to or something and I promise you will find something! Go on ebay and buy the 5 lug hub conversions! They bolt right on! Like, you unbolt your old 4 lug ones and you bolt in your new 5 lug ones! DONE!
