3sgte, 20v, 4agze

Good choice. I'd say be original and pull off a custom Borinqueňo style 2RZFE or 3RZFE supercharged swap. I've seen it in a AE86 coupe it had a 2.4L 2RZFE, with header and intake and a few other little trinkets it should be a fun Daily/Drifter.

or z, other swaps.....eh....y that car, dont ruin the car....buy mine

1) 3sgte...if you can afford it, highly dissaprove the investement
2) 20v turbo
3) GZE
4) 20v s/t or b/t
5) Redtop

you'll have a VERY hard time reaching 200whp from the GZE before you have to spend thausands. 20v is basically a GZE (4age 7-rib w/ oil squirters etc..) a different head and not so different on the inside. so 20v FI > GZE

but...before you even getting into the swaps, you must consider having $$$ backing you up...atleast 10k for the 3sgte, min $7000 for the turbo 20v ~ 4-5k if you DIY and about $3000 for the 4AGZE or 20v NA...if going forced induction look into the w58 supra tranny 'cause the T-50 (your tranny) will have a tough time standing up to all the torque.

there's no "turbo kit" for the 20v for the 86...well, i've seen a few, but they are both insultingly expensive.

22r definatly man awesome motors I had one in my celica and my motorhome indestructable

i would go for the 20v it's more bang for your buck... if you go with a 4age from the junk yard if you do find one that **** will just kick the bucket.

20 v have bad sleeves, im sure u know that,....complete my dream...2zzge

pretty sure 20v walls are weak or somethign like that, not sure, someone ...any heard of this, think i read it on club4ag one day

You guys forgot to ask the important question. el_boricua_luny, what are you going to use the car primarily for? Drift, Grip, Drag, Daily? Depending on your goals, we can better help you decide which engine setup to go with.

i've never heard of it...

The 20v engine is the same engine as the 4AGZE (7-rib 4age version w/ oil squirters which HAS strong walls and suited for forced induction ~ GZE). From what i've read, Basic changes from the gze -> 20v are the head, vvt, xxx misc things idk and some of the internals on the silvertop (which HAS strong rods like the GZE rods and its semi-suited for FI ~ high comp) but the blacktop has light ~ some say weak internals hence why it revs so high but doesn't like FI and i guess its why people say its a good engine swap to keep stock.

i'm sure most of us 86 owners are either looking for drift or grip...daily...so 20v T>gze>20v>redtop
if he wants to drag i'd say get something with more cylinders :D

4AGE's don't have sleeved blocks. And ST20V/ BT20V/4AGZE all have the same block look up the part numbers, they are the same. The BT 20V has lighter(thinner rods),ST=MAF, BT=MAP and thats about it in diifferences between the BT and ST 20V's. Now the 4AGZE has one other advantage it has a very low compression ratio opposed to the 20V's so the GZE likes the boost.

That question is useless Bladder, He should just get a B16. It is the greatest thing to ever happen to imports. I'm gonna swap a B16B2 into a Z32TT.

If you are going to turbo a 4age or put the 4agze into the ae86 make sure you use a supra celica rear end because the ae86 one will break easily. A friend of mine just bought a whole built 4agze turbo engine swap that was already in an ae86. It was using the 4agze tranny that had a 3 puck clutch and lightened flywheel. It made 350+ hp and 280 torque to the wheels at 18psi before the car was crashed because of a wheel spacer that caused one of the rear wheels to fly off on da highway. The frame was damaged so the guy sold the whole thing together to my friend. But that supra celica rear end held up great with the power he put down.

yea its a mazda motor...but imagine the power to weight ratio!! :D

yeah a 3 rotor in an ae86 is sick. i would jus get an ae86 an put a 4age 20v and keep it all motor, do the suspension and just drift wit it.

... a Mazda in a Toyota; ouch...
If I could I'd build it. I'm a purists though so I would stick w/ a 4ag engine.

Are u sure he had a 4AGZE tranny in an AE86 because thats a C52 which is for FWD & MR cars. Maybe you meant that he had a W58 Tranny Swap from A Celica/Supra.
