Xtreme Drift Circuit Announces 2010 Championship Schedule and Championship Prizes

January 4, 2009 (Tustin, Calif.) – The Xtreme Drift Circuit, drifting’s first nationwide Pro-Am championship, is proud to announce its six-round 2010 championship season with events across the country – launching with drifting’s Holy Grail of venues, and culminating in a finale with the Formula Drift Pro-Am Nationals.

The XDC will begin its season at the ‘House of Drift’, Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in Southern California, on March 20, 2010. From there, the series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 22, and then to the east coast on June 19 at Summit Point Raceway. August 7 will see the XDC at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, and then to a brand new drifting venue the Texas Motor Speedway on September 25. The season will finish on October 16 at Firebird Raceway in tandem with the Formula Drift Pro-Am Nationals.

Working in conjunction with the Formula Drift Pro Championship, the XDC prize package will provide a huge reward to the drivers committing to the 2010 season. The drivers finishing in the top three of the XDC championship will earn Formula Drift Pro Championship licenses for the 2011 season, while the top placers in each XDC event will be automatically granted an invitation to the Pro-Am Nationals at the end of the season.

“Our 2010 XDC Championship schedule hits several major drifting markets throughout the United States,” said Michael Munar, President of XDC Events, Inc. “As a platform for our drivers to advance to the next level of drifting competition, we are very happy with our venues and circuits. We couldn’t be more excited about starting our series at the legendary Irwindale Speedway. It will be a great way to launch the XDC and start unveiling the future stars of drifting.”

US Drift will be staffing and managing the XDC, and technical inspection will be handled by Formula Drift as part of the XDC’s partnership with the series. The series will soon publish its rulebook, which closely mirrors the Formula Drift Pro-Am rulebook.

Yeah I know I was pretty disappointed that there was no florida event. I mean I don't even live there anymore but I was still hoping florida would get one. I don't get why they keep ignoring the fact that florida has one of the biggest drift scenes in the US and some really awesome drivers. I think it may have been a lack of suitable tracks. I mean shit they should have had a homestead event.

After all its pretty true....

I think Homestead is a great track, But maybe the only turns you can drift in my opinion dont need much skill like irwindale or others would need for a pro level.

I havent even driven any tracks so i wouldnt know but its just by the looks of it.

well I said it because its like the only track we have that has any elevation changes. Plus it was the site of the first major drift event in florida back in 2004, and I went to it and it was awesome. Most all the OG's on this site were there too.

I mean PBIR would be cool too but the most interesting drift section ( all the corners in the back ) has no viewing area. The big horseshoe turn is sweet and all but I dont think its technical enough for a bigger style event.

Daytona's layout would only support mega high powered cars to link its road course, sebring would be cool but probably too expensive. Ocala grand prix never wants drifting on its track again ( Mostly E30 gansta's fault ;) lol ) CFRC's road course and just how the track works probly wouldn't be great for a good event. countyline is not a professional venue, no offense. OSW has a lack of layout and a crappy location.

I mean it would be hard to get a better venue for it than Homestead

i think im gonna skip rnd 1. make sure all the nicks and nats on the car is perfect, plus that will give my brother and ryan time to finish the cars and start on rnd 2 in vegas!!

wack ill im sayin is im not goin to jersey again killed esites car killed my car beat the shit out of raffis car. Its a cool track with alot of great people but im not doin that shit again
