180 tail light wiring

your gonna have to cut the harness from your 180 tails and your old tails. the wires are the same color and seve the same function. all you need is a wire cutter and black tape. make sure you twist the copper wires together for best results. dont worry its easy. dont forget the weather stripping that goes around your lights. or your gonna have leaky tail lights. good luck

or just solder them so they never come apart.

lol i knew ronch was gonna post right after me. yeah thats what i did and have yet to encounter a problem

::sighs:: twisting wires and black tape was sooo 1999 welcome to the future bryan .. its 2009

i might be chopping u up but im giving u good information on how to do it right so yeah:bigthumbu:bigthumbu gl when the heat from the bulbs fucks up the electrical tape and it shorts out and melts your 500 dollar lights  shouldnt take too long in the sfl heat

the heat from the bulbs is nowhere near the tape.....the tape is just used to hold the wires together. its called "electrical tape" for a reason lol. besides soldering seems like too much of a pain in the ass to do. theres a guy on nicoclub who has wired his lights like i have and its been good for 3 years. so im not too worried:D

have you seen electrical tape take a few weeks of humidity?? its florida son ...the swamps

i was checking one of the bulb numbers like a week ago. everything looks normal. bulbs and wiring. nothing melted or burned

the tape may look normal but the humidity is still gonna be trapped inside then your wiring starts to corrode and you have less conductivity.

maybe..if worse comes to worse. the site i bought the lights from sell the bulbs and harnesses seperate. ill buy those IN CASE it happens. or if im feeling cheap ill go to a JY and cut the old connecters from a hatch and use those.

yo you do what you want dude im just saying it would be wise to do it proper considering that your sending power to the lights and your body is ground.

there was 3 or 4 ways to do it IIRC

1. soldering
2. black tape
3. little connectors
4....not sure lol

most ppl i spoke to on nico told me the black tape way would be straight as long as it was wraped tight. i wanted to do the connectors but i couldnt find a part number for em. and ive never used a soldering iron before. if the tape survives the summer ill be good. its been like this for 3 months now (got them in april). ill let u guys kno if anything though but thanx for the tips:bigthumbu

all you gotta do is twist them together and tape em, you have to really be lazy and suck at life for that shit to come apart by itself in the next 2years that you have your car
