Yeah you can crash, but it's a lot harder to do. Slow cars are good for learning because everything is in slow motion, you have a lot more time to react to every situation, and mistakes are a lot more forgiving. On that note. I'll be there in my really slow miata!

I think this is kind of a myth that helps dudes with crappy cars sleep at night. One advantage to learning with a really slow car, is that you're less likely to go fast enough to crash.

I think it's just because it's easy to get caught up in the moment when you're driving, and try to push harder than you need to. I beat myself doing that every round of pro-am this year. Plus the cars in FD are so fast and have so much grip that I'm sure every run is a white knuckle ride...
