OK 6-7 MO Ago i installed a greddy knock off bov on my sr20det it sounded awesome....
now it sounds like a ssq..and i still hold boost etc but it souds weird...
does that mean its shot...or its my turbo goin out..i kno the seals r on their way out but im in the process of rebuilding 1 of the t25 i have...
any input would be helpfull:laugh:

either it is out of adjustment, or its time to replace it. if worst comes to worst ive got a real Greddy RS bov for sale for cheap, lmk what happens

wait...what....compressor surge anyone????

correct me if im wrong but doesnt that happen when you dont have a bov to release the boost pressure???

you think they put a bov on every turbo car because they wanna here the fanboi swoosh??? most turbo'd cars you cant even hear the bov release the air back into the system.

+1 your bov is probably stuck shut

Im not trying to be a smart ass or one of those cool guys that just says completely incorrect information for fun. You dont need a BOV

Can't hear most of them release cause they are recirculating types, and not open air like every one tends to goes to. It's true you don't need one but it does put extra wear on the turbo since the fluttering sound you get without one is the air forcing it's way back through the fins on the intake side of the turbo. I ran my last car without one for a good while though and never had any problems with it.

If you do go no bov which is never recommended, put the air filter as close to the turbo as possible. That's what I was told when choosing a bov. But I just spent $50 on a black hks ssqv so its not that much.....

But if your holding boost and the bov does its job and releases the pressure then why would you get rid of it?

Bro quit stating the obvious. No shit you'll get a compression surge w0000 big fucking woop. Your little 20 year old turbo will take a shit on you because of other stupid reasons regardless. Your seals will take a shit before the compressor shatters anyways so fuck it. Be a man and rock no BOV. If the Japs do it, you know its cool.

make sure the vaccum line for the bov is well conected. just my 0.1 cent
