Dear The fish/any ls1dood with FD hopes

Ive heard this same argument countlless countless times, not about drifting but everytime something goes from underground to mainstream aka FADS, people are always up in arms lol.

There will be a time when there are no more drift series, it will all be underground again, at least in the usa.

look at import dragracing today compared to what it was 5 years ago.

thats what we are here for....we gotta keep it going. but im not really sure how to reply to this other than what i just stated... that would suck tho really. but all in all were all gunna be dead in 2 years anyway... 12/21/2012

;)

competitive drifting doesnt suck. its really fun, its all in the attitude of those in charge and have the ability to change it.

why are we all argueing, build ur car, go out there, drift and make something of ur self.

end of thread!

yea thats pretty much what i meant, no disrepect to the drifters.

but all the sponsors, the money, the drama, just clutters up the natural appeal of the sport iMO.

Import drag racing went from being dudes driving cars that were pretty close to what most kids on the streets were driving, to these strange contraptions that were barely even cars within just a few years. Car progression that happened way faster than Nascar, conventional drag racing, etc. That loses that Fast n Furious connection with the fanbase.

Also, competitive drifting usually isn't fun, but if you do good at it, then you get to drive for fun a lot more often, and drive way more fun cars, etc.

Also, drifting is fun.

Actually drifting a car is super fun
hanging out with good friends at events is super fun.

Everything else about drifting sucks

this is true look at gittens mustang its not even a mustang anymore its got a full tube chassis and non of the body is stock parts. its getting to where the cars arnt street cars built to drift they are straight up race cars.

ALL the examples you guys are usuing of cars that are whack are like 10% of the pro cars. and thats only like 1% of the countrys and .1% of the worlds.

i dont like them either but I think its funny that non of the above mentioned cars WON the championship this year.

im not saying a street car cant compete at that level it more driver then car. the right driver can keep up with half the power of the big boys

I'm just sayin my dick is a normal dick, and breakfast burritos are making my belly hurt.

I think there's an obvious bit of favoritism/leniency in FD with regard to car builds/teams/rules. I think that's where a lot of the piss and vinegar comes from. Actually all the rules, breaking of said rules, and enforcing of others is what got me sick of FD...i see enough politics on the news, i don't need it when I'm trying to chill and watch some boys drift. Im not saying there should be anarchy on the field either, but when stupid shit like colored smoke tires are "banned" when nascar powered rwd scions are allowed just leaves me sour. It seems like the big dogs of FD thoroughly enjoy sucking the teets of the big sponsors, and bc of it, they pick who they want to victimize and ignore those they don't.

Agreeed 100%

at fd Atlanta last year, I watched a no name fucking destroy Sam hubbinette. First run he rode the door of the viper. Lead run, hubbinette straightened like 3 times. No names hatch pops open a bit, so dood loses the run. Bullshit. They said since the hatch popped open, something could have come out of the car or fallen off. Last I checked, therules said absolutley nothing in the car.
