Why...i dont classify myself as a drifter...nor will i ever...i just once in a while drive my car hard at a certain spot me and friend have and i take the turn sideways and then do donuts at the intersections. But then again i would do it with my iroc ad my friend does it in his lt1 powered 3rd gen camaro. so were not drifters..i guess what i mean is that i get labeled. When all in all im scaed to do all those things not because i am scared to do it but because I HATE mistreating my cars. both my irocs were and are the cleanest in hialeah and my coupe well its not the cleanest but its very well kept...and those who respect me for that and dont carewhether i drift it or not are my true friends not retarded shit talkers....which try and drift in an 80 camaro that cant handle or a diesel truck.

quick question Just curious, if you dont consider yourself a drifter and you dont drift then why are you on a drifter forum? there are lots of other automotive forums out there, why this one?

this guy once told me he drifts but he didnt have a silvia front end so i told him no way get out of here!!

Back in like 03, 04? Alright, but from 04 on, there have been mad events. all the fucking time. Str33t sliding isnt the same, no matter how you cut it.

the problem with 'street only' drifters is that 95% of them are terrible and understeer anyways. they consider squealing tires drifting and then they brag on how they are a drifter- this is just a slap in the face to people that really drift/dedicate time and money into it. They don't goto events and usually when they do, they are the slowest (feels like your goin fast on the street but its usually slow as hell) and are all over the place.
Claiming you're a drifter just because you drive a rwd car is like someone filming themselves jacking off, and then calling themselves a porn star.
the other 5% of street drifters are actually good and thats their style/choice and I don't have an issue with them.

lets steer the thread back to goofy stories, how about first time drifting? tried drifting an auto? drifted an inlaws s2000 and took it over a median, into oncoming traffic? paid thousands to fix the suspension on a car that was less than a week old? (i'm not necessarily a talented driver!)
I get these all the time...Your working outside on the ride, and then you get these people that has the sudden impulse to show you how cool and drifter they are.( Usually a honda or Integra, sometimes a RWD) So they take the turn wait till way beyond the apex and from what i can understand is some weak attempt to get the car to slide. Most of the time loosing it and not only looking like a total Idiot but almost wiping out the stop sign and mail boxes around. Dont Be That guy!

street sliding isnt the same now a days because all the good spots are now apartment buildings or mini malls and the police just give you a street racing ticket or wreckless driving ticket instead of the improper start or careless driving so it IS CHEAPER now to go to an event, especially with the prices of countyline events being so low for the more southern florida guys.
i really dont have any of these cool stories because all my friends actually drift and i dont hang with the posers ha! except JoshuaS, he told everybody from florida to cali that he drifts and when we showed up at random events it was sooooooo bad that I had to fly back home because I couldnt deal with his lies
