Well I decided I want to expand my horizons and leave the dark side.

I am currently in the market for an e36. I don't know ANYTHING about BMW so I want to know if it is worth it to get an M3 or a non-M3 with do just fine?

I just plan to have it as a nice daily but sliding is not out of the question.

Fill me in!

dude m3 ftw. Bmw has been known to make the best track cars. theyll take corners at a pretty good amount of speed and not oversteer and also can change direction very well. i also heard that once u get them sideways that they are pretty easy to control

i would personally wouldnt do it drifting mite be involve in it. u can be the best driver out there. think about it ur spending a good amount of money into it , and if by any chance u hit something  cuz u gatta remember crashing is part of drifting.

Many e36 owners are just content with a 328. A 328 with s52 cams 3.5 hfm and the normal bolt ons. Puts out about 210 - 220 rwhp. Thats more than enough power to have some fun. Get the bolt ons and its a dream to drive. If you do go e36 get a late model one. The interior and body has more stock options and the build quality is better. Any other question just let me know.

Idk, an e36 m3 is still big money these days. I don't think it's worth it unless your truley driving to the limit, those cars handle insanley. They are true drivers car's, so unless you push the limits on a daily basis (I mean seriously) it may not be worth it for you yet. The 325 has awesome power stock, cheaper and most will be more than happy with one.:bigthumbu

Like this is perfect...

Thanks for the responses!

I don't plan on driving it to the limit so I guess a non-M3 will do just fine. For the most part its going to be a sweet daily because I plan to buy an 86 for the track once my z sells.

So I hear 325 and 328?

Whats the scoop on those?

325 is sick, 328 is sicker. 325 tranny (getrag sucks) but has better intake, 328 has the ZF M3 tranny and better exhaust. 328 would be more a better choice but dont worry too much about it, they are both great buys. You cannot go wrong.

yeah mine is just a 328is with a M3 S52 engine swapped in with some suspension stuff

Autotrader oddly enough, I was looking for an M3 and the one I wanted got sold and I was pissed then the next day this car popped up and I was like Hell yeah
