anybody out there ever slide in a volvo? Just wondering. I think it'd be pretty sweet. Love the look of the early 90's box volvos.

My uncle used to have an old 240 turbo that he made real fast with just random parts from other volvos. Bitch ran like high 12s on drag radials.

yea a lot of people have in sweden. Volvos over there are like nissans over here. but be prepared for work. unless you find one with independent suspension, all rwd vovlos are live axle. coilovers have to be made custom and you best bet for more power is a 5.0 swap since they slide right in. The b230ft makes decent power, but internals are only good for up to around 300 and so is the tranny. unfortunately the only upgrade thats bolt on is the t5 tranny from camaros and mustangs. is you wanna stay 4 cyl then a couple options. you can go with the volvo penta motors which have made good power, you can try to source an ever so rare dual cam head or you can go find yourself a 2.3 ford block from the thunderbird coupe turbo and mustang svu. from there you slap on the volvo head which are known to flow a lot better. the other options for power are 2jz and ls1 but they require some extensive work. like i said best bet is a ford 5.0

also the price for older volvos has considerably gone up in just a the past few years. you were able to buy one a turbo one for about 700 in good shape about 5 years ago, thats has near quadrupled since then. and they are becoming harder and harder to get

if you get one...a dude at my gym has like 4 master certs in volvo but now works for Champion Porshe. dude knows his stuff so if you get one ill holler at him for ya

Gotta homeboy rocking a Volvo. I'm sure you can slide it, but there's going to be a LOT of suspension work before is track worthy. They do make nice sleepers.

when i was like 8-9 years old my dad had a volvo wagon and after some car movie in connecticut it had started snowing so he took me drifting in the parking lot after the movie... i remember him telling me, "this is how you really learn to drive..." awesome!!!!

I dunno wat you been smoking but the suspension setup is just like that off an 86 corolla. It's just a matter of cutting some perches, changing shocks and welding sleeves. And ipd makes a variety of springs for the car. You also can't forget that the Volvo 240 also was used as a road racing car
