A question was brought up from the owners of Rocket Bunny/6666 customs about having their kits available in the U.S of A.

My question to every SFLDrifters would be;

(a) Yes and why?

(b) No and why?

PS- if possible Mods, please start a Poll.

(a) yes b/c they make the best looking kit and over fenders ever for a zenki s14, it would cost me over $2k through an unofficial importer, and the estimates for wait times i've gotten through said importers range from 6 months to a year which is fuck shit bullshit imo.

Yes, they have really good kits fitment is good from all the pics i have seen. but i dont think that you will find alot of people on this site that will drop the money on one of there kits. If you are interesting in doing there stuff you would be smart to advertise to all types of 240sx related sites zilvia being one for sure. another reason why i think yes is to have a different kit avialibe... seems that its the same shit you see over and over anymore. I would be more then happy to be the guine pig and get a kit and install it on my car.. haha

but correct me if im wrong... doesnt rhdjapan already offer this kit here state side?

lol every person on Zilvia is saying NO because of cheap US market wanting a fake knock off brand that resembles Rocket Bunny...

They have a good point cause who down here will spend $1800 on their full kit

You make a really good point, the point of buying Rocket Bunny over a knock off brand would be for fitment and quality. But honestly, fitment and quality don't really matter on a wall rider, right? So i think no, we shouldn't import here. we should find a U.S. company willing to create replicas for cheaper.

honestly if i had the money to blow i would get there kit... but yes to drop that kind of money is hard to do. As it is on zilvia they have a sale for the supermade kits for like 1200 shiped and i dont think its going as well as they thought. For myself i think i will end up getting a copy cat kit first just cause im hard pressed to spend lots on my car. I would like to say that i would save up for a real rocket bunny/ super made but i just dont see that happening for a while.

see the problem is when a company decides to make a copy/replica of Rocket bunny or any other brand...the original manufacturers get hurt with business because of people buying the cheaper replica and pretty much putting that company on top vs. using the original.

Although who would want to blow up aero that cost them $1800....so its a tough decision especially with the economy failing so hard these days

it would be cool if they sold em here,
but like the point that was brought up,
ppl r buying the fake knock offs, especially people that are using their cars to drift

i felt bad when i broke my 200 dollar greddy lip on my last s14, imagen braking one of these kits

All thats gonna happen is Extreme Dimensions or someone will buy the $2,000 kit and make a mold of it and resell it for like $500. But yea bring em, more kits to buy. Gonna get ripped though.

I don't believe that at all. Anyone who buys knock-offs is doing so to save money b/c their supply of cash is limited. They're willing to deal with imperfections to save a couple hundred bucks. Assuming no knockoff parts existed, i think its a safe assumption that the vast majority of those people would avoid buying a kit in general (if im wrong, find me a broke drifter w/ a 6666 kit or bn kit or w/e in america). Its just like any other luxury brand - before copies and knock-offs exist, the items are exclusive. Any company who produces such items KNOWs they are never going to reach the mass market and they do not expect to. The kinds of people that buy name brand luxury items do it for the indirect benefits which are unattainable by purchasing copy cat items. They purposely spend exorbitant amounts of money to be gain a sense of personal satisfaction and feeling of exclusivity. Whether copies exist or not, to the luxury item purchaser it does not matter (obviously to an extent). Louis vuitton, Gucci, and Rolex still thrive b/c of this fact. If those kits are $1800 and that's the bottom line, then the manufacturer already knows that they are only ever going to sell maybe 10 kits total in a year. A knock-off will not effect such sales.

I also want to ad - supermade has been here for a while. Many a fanboi swung on the nuts of supermade. Coming in $1200 a kit, you dont seem many people buying them. So where are the knock-offs? Maybe one will pop up, maybe they won't. The point is, a nice, expensive kit being brought to the states does not guarantee a knock of.

If their kits were a little bit more reasonably priced I would buy them. Like if they did a group buy for 1200 I would buy one.

hmm...interesting!

Oh I want to say so much!!! But I will keep it short. This Kit will become a knock off within ast most 18 months of landing here, I can get REAL Origin,Vertex,Version Select ECT.... Full kits that cost $800+ But do you know what happens when I tell a customer of the price? 99% say oh well thats too much ill buy a knock off. Or do you know whatelse happens? I tell a customer the price of a knock off for $399 and they say thats too much. People want to look baller but dont want to pay out. Example, rota wheels.

We now have knockoffs of MEGAN RACING... Really? Come on....

Why do you think greddy filled chapter 11??

Now you may ask yourself, then why do I sell knockoffs? Simple people wont buy real.

Greddy was run like shit, that's why they struggled. Same with Apexi. From a customer's POV and having dealt with trying to obtain parts and replacement parts from both over the past 6 or so years of modifying jap cars, i can say with assurance that both those companies had serious logistical issues.

I don't disagree with you that people are cheap, but I don't think the knock off manufacturers will be so quick to make another kit for 240s since its already a dying market and really can't go anywhere but down. Any of those companies could have already imported the kits and made molds if they wanted to. I fail to see how an official US presence would suddenly create a copy.

You guys wanna know something....Fuck the US...I need to push these kits in Canada...Canada people spend money on real shit...not knock off fake bullshit....I myself have a knock off GP SPorts kit..but hey, I do tap the wall sometimes, so the heck with it!

I will move to Canada by the end of the year and start fresh....We already have a paid house up there so Peace niggies! hahahaha
