gots a new turbo, manifold, ss lines, o2 housing ALL TOGETHER
was suppose to be like NEW and only used for like 1500 miles

so i put it on and this bitch happens

.

is it just the heat wrap baking on?
i pulled the CAS and primed the turbo with oil like 10 billion times lol
is it ANOTHER bad turbo?

please tell me its suppose to happen. doesnt smell like oil it smells weird and ive never smelled heat wrap before.

edit: also notice how i need tie wraps to hold that tee to my valve cover....WTF
and notice my oil catch can delete, its just one hose then a cap off, is that legit or what?

did the heat wrapped seem dry? cause it could of been soaked in sumthing and now its just burning it off. let that bad boy run outside for sum time and see if it burns off. but i would def. visualy inspect for a major leak.

ahhh im nervous, let me get a couple more ppl telling me that i should run it like that and see if it stops. cuz im fucking scared to mess ANOTHER turbo up lol

what r u like 12? if its not leaking anything(which if it was leaking that bad to smoke that much u can tell) then fukn run the car and let it burn off. u askd for help u got it!

lol, 21 and fucking broke...college sucks the cack.
and i just spent way too much on this so stop making me want to cut myself in the corner

lol, and thanks for the advice

like PB&J says., if u have a bad turbo is gonna smoke thru ur exahust ..i guess ? you little kid... now tell me.. the T comming out from the valve cover.. you have a Cap in there ? someone correct me if im wrong.. " you need to have that side of the T open .,run oil catch can or at least a breather filter, but not Block it off just like that " ...

the cap was on there for a test to see if oil was comming out of it under boost

yea i took that shit off and am running it open for now.

back to main subject. ran it to operating temp and the thing is still smoking just the same. not more not less.
its been around 30 min running.
not overheating.
small water leak on water neck to radiator return. but that shouldnt cause it to smoke. its leaking straight on the unused ac compressor then to the floor not even touching turbo side

do not block the "T". its part of the crank case vent system

if its still smoking, then u need to look for a leak, more then likly the fittings on the turbo. its gotta be a decent leak for that much smoke. place a peice of carboard or white towel under the car, run it for like 5 10mins and then move the car see if there are any leaks

smart man, thanks for the help.

i got a cardboard under the whole time, only water spot is under ac compressor. nothing under turbo.

using a small mirror attached to a stick i check the fittings on the turbo and nothing. nothing on the o2 housing or downpipe causing it to smoke neither.

and no leaks from lines attached to the block.

that only leaves heat wrap and turbo seals right?

and if its turbo seals did i just fuck it more by running it that long? only at idle besides a few revs maybe till 4k nothing hard and didnt hold it in higher rpms just a few small short revs

i dont think turbo seals, if ur car is not smoking from exahust.
take that wrap out .you can see better if the manifold is dirty with oil ( very common when you take it out and work on the car with ur hands full of grease) Gl and im gonna sleep. !:chair:

if the turbo seals were blown u would have excessive smoke coming out da exhaust, specially if you rev it.

im putting my money on the heat wrap. like i stated before, heat wrap usually has sum burn off to it, and a funky smell, but it looks like its had coolant or oil soaked into it and that is what is acually burned off.

if u dont see any visiable signs of external leaks, i would just put it outside and let that bitch run.

Yeah what pb&j said cause my boy had a similar problem with his honda and it was cause the heat wrap got oily.
