first off some turbo porn

Now the question

We are trying to get this brand spanking new beautiful turbo onto a redtop sr20. We have clearance issues.

This part of the turbo

is hitting the steering knuckle

We have tried with both the stock manifold and a megan bottom mount manifold. What are we doing wrong...and how do we clear this.
 
or you can loosen the bolts and twist the bearing cartrage (i think its called that) so that it fits but is still pointing downward.
 
Garrett dose not suggest you clock the center section more then 30 degrees from having your oil feed on top and the return on the bottom. Following this rule I do not belive clocking the center section will be an option.

Grab a fitting that has a 90 on it. Check the t25 that came off the redtop. Reuse that return fitting if its 90.

If you cant find a fitting like that and time is a issue then find someone to cut it on a 90 and reweld it togeather (make sure you pressure test it for leaks).

.........shhhhh its not operational yet. Exhaust side is giving us issues. I need a 90 elbow. Can anyone tell me where to find them? The t25 one wont fit.

I think you better check the 90degree elbows that murrays has, they only have a few sizes. Try dynamic turbo, ebay?

I havent bought anything yet. We are trying to get this car in order before I make any decisions. My problem is that all this is new to me, and im not sure what to do. Once the mani is bolted on to the car we are straight. We have everything we need, but this return nipple put us back. I cant check anything out in miami I am 3 hours away from you all
 
I'll try and check it out for you and i'll pm you the info. I think that part goes for like $20 shipped i'll let you know
