S14 Subframe bushings general info

I've been doing a bit of research and I need some final answers and insight before I make this investment for the summer.

From what I heard, S14's and S13's experience different noise levels when you have the solid bushings installed because the s13 has the diff bolted directly to the subframe, which makes it clatter?

Just wanted to also know, what do you all recommend? I've been looking around and was recommended poly urethane bushings but they are ridiculously expensive. If there isn't any noise or clattering going on anymore once I install the solid(aluminum) bushings on my car, then I don't mind going with that alternative.

Also when it comes to installation, I've been told the oem or poly bushings require a machine press?
Can't I install them using other tools reliably?

I can't say much about noise, cause I had no interior and heard everything. But even that wasn't too bad, heard the engine/tranny more then anything. As far as instillation, easiest way I found is torch the old ones out and wipe in some white grease and bang the solid ones in. If that's too hard, you can try freezing them and banging it in, but I didn't have to do that.

I found out a lot of other people on SFL suspension forum already inquired about this subject.. please close. Found all the info I need back from 2008.

But on another note, can someone recommend me a product, or any solid bushing is okay?

As long as they are machined right they're good. I used SPLparts.com bushings. I got mine back in the day, so they did not include the spacer shims that come with them now.

They look a little weird to me. They should look like the stance kit that is shown below that. And I don't know why they call it a double subframe bushing kit.

I know what you mean lol, they either look like pyramids like these or cylindrical like the stance or SPL ones.. I really don't know the difference.

splparts or nothing!!!! and freeze them in dry ice, dry ice has a lower freezing point and will shrink them enough to practically slip them in if not a pice of wood and mini sledge gets em in no hassles, i advise u NOT to use the bolt method cause it damages the bushing

Link to a website that offers this at a good price?

Yeah those are it. Forget about the dry ice and all that, just get yourself a nice torch and burn the rubber out, then you'll need to chip out the metal collars that went around the rubber bushing. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIT THE SOLID BUSHING IN IF YOU DO NOT TAKE OUT THIS METAL RING. The best way is an air hammer, but i've done it with a hammer and chisel. It's basically just a lot of grunt work.
