Yea, so the cluster worked before in my other car, the harness is connected.. everything else on it works except the RPM... any ideas?

Gauge being shorted is a possibilty but so is the factory harness from the new shell. Check with the stock cluster if the tach works then it's the cluster if not than it can be many things including a sensor or fuses. Is it only the tach or do none of the meters read?

bah it was sohc wiring and the clip right off the ecu to the dash harness wasnt fitting right so i spliced the sohc harness connector onto the dohc wires and everything works fine.. and THX ZAK for helpin me witht he window wipers lol
