Rebuilding an engine

Sorry for the really noob question but im interested.

If you rebuild an engine i heard that its basically like new if you replace most of the parts with new ones, if this is true why dont people with high mileage cars stick with their same engines and just replace parts??

Usually it costs more to rebuild than to just pick up a used one, case in point- KA's. They go for like 100-200bucks.

the only thing in a motor that wears down is pretty much camshafts cylender walls and piston rings basically if all thats new plus assorys your good but one things leads to another so you have to replace alot and ka's are cheep

i just picked up a ka for 170buxs instead of having to rebuilt my other ka which is dead. cheaper and faster to just buy another.

never seen a ka on ebay.. basically look far and wide on these forums..
any kind of jdm motor is google searchable..
put in jdm motors.. or whatever motor your looking for there is a billion jdm motor sites

thanks. like booster seats said just basically look around these forums and see if anyone selling or parting out there car and go from there. you can try JDMOFMIAMI.COM but make sure you got deep pockets because they aint that cheap.
