Hi everyone. what kind of tires do you have?

SR S13

F: FM901 very quiet.
Its pretty good for what you pay. No sidewall after I drift a few times, because the way I drift :) I just picked up RS2.

R: random used tires or tore up (20-30% tread) front tire
Its easy to take control with grippy tires. I have kumho SPT.

Do you have recomended front tires with hard sidewall?

Word of advice dont give wrong evaluations on tires (I love tires).....the Dunlop FM901's are one of the noisest tires on the market....Yes they do grip nicely..

so far my fav set-up has been 16x7F 205/50/16 Dunlop FM901's
and 16x8R 205/55/16 Kumho 712's or general w/e POS's.

im running yokohama ES100's up front right going back and forth between and few tires for the next set. they are pretty badass tires grip well in rain or dry wear is as expected from the type of tire it is. they are noisey i guess but it doesnt really bother me i just turn the radio up lol. pretty stiff sidewall for the most part. 205/55/15

in the rear: when i slide i usually try to run 195-205/55-60/15 brand isnt that important. for daily i run zeix's they are ok decent grip in the rain/dry and are quiet 215/60/15

kuhmo 711 in front, and watever in the back on my 15.

If i happen to use my 17s its my yokos. hi tread wear, hard compound tire. i forget the name right now

Well, I had the old Azenis in the front, size was 195/60/14 and I plan on trying out the Yokohama ES100 up front soon, size 185/60/14.

Now for the rear I get used tires around the size of 185/60/14. If I do buy new tires I try to get tires with high treadwear rating 400+, they usually end up being all season or touring tires. I'm still in the beginning stages of drifting, when I get better I'll try to get some decent tires being that my car is so underpowered I cant get any hardcore grip tires. . .yet ;)

Hankook RS2's all the way baby...well, until I burn up the bad set in the rear, then it's a set of st115's and misc other 'high performance' tires.

$8/ea junkyard tires...usually 175/70/13....i buy them 8 at a time and eat thru them like 2 per month

even though i usually find tires with ~60-75% thread i abuse them too much. handling sucks with them and burnouts usually leavy powder lol!!

how can you say someone's evaluation is wrong? evaluation involves an opinion based on personal experience and, through his personal experience, he believes them to be very quiet. can you argue that? no, you can't argue that he thinks they are quiet. that is his personal belief. the term "loud" is all relative. some thought dan's NA pos was loud, i think outlaw drag cars are loud.....do you understand?

used to rock the Falken Azenis 205/50/15 up front and have since changed to the newer models.

Rear really doesn't matter that much at the sfl level.

My evaluation of the DUNLOP FM901's: Good grip for the money, easy to break loose in the wet, still alright wet grip, LOUD at about 45mph and over. with the 200 tread wear, they do wear kinda fast but nothing outstanding, there no azenis, RS2's or Goodyear F1's, they would be perfect for daily and some time to time grip driving or drifting, if they wernt so loud, sorry tire noises annoy me, I'd rather hear exhaust or music.

Im honestly not the biggest dunlop fan, I had SP9000s on my stockies and they were all around ok. But when I got my buddy clubs on the rear with Michelin Pilot Sports, now those gripped SOO nicely! The BF Goodrich radials that come on STIs are REALLY nice too.
Right now I have Hankook HRII K104's on the front and Falken Azenis ST115's on the rear. I love the Falkens, they break loose very easily.

FM901s and RS2s are almost identical. The only difference must be in the compund. The thread pattern is similar, both 200 wear rated.

I run FM901s(225/55/16) up front and I havnt seen understeer since. I plan on getting RS2s next time around or ST115 Just to compare. I hear the ST115 are unbelieveable in the dry but the wet is no good?
