just got done doing my ka-t swap and the car is overheating in like a matter of minutes not even
idk if my gauge is just fucked up
but there pressure stays in the system
already checked to see if some weird reason my head-gasket went from idle the 10 min its been running
the motor runs fine also my fans are not turning on and its not a fuse already checked them all
the water pump is good
over heats even when at speed

anybody got some suggestion that i can try in the morning

wussup wit ur thermostat?? and do u have the fans setup through a sensor that turns it on when the car gets hot??

check both hoses see if ones hotter than the other could be an indication of poor circulation. stuck termostat. radiator? you have electric fans on your ka i take it? well if those arnt coming on then i would fix what you know is wrong first. then go from there. eliminate some of the variables to simplify it. also try to get a infrared temp gauge to see if it is just your gauge or your temp sensor malfunctioning gl.oh and dont just take your stat out.. yes you can run like that but your car will never get to optimal temp so it isnt the best thing to do especially since your going ka-t. you want everything in good working order.

If you just did the swap and it is instanly overheating you have bubbles in your water system....

idle your car with the rad cap off and keep filling it up until the water level doesnt go down any more..

good point. duh..:slap: lol

ive never had a cooling prob on mine but isnt there a bleed valve?

thermostat
flush the system
radiator cap
flush the radiator.

make sure your using the right spark plug and not something thats making your car heat up faster.

and also make sure you don't have a blown headgasket. if you don't or think you don't how do you know?

motor was rebuilt 500 miles ago came out running
blown head-gasket was the first thing i checked
umm im using bk7e the same as my old setup all new fluids
the fans are altima and are on the sensor when the car gets hot kicks them on
i think maybe the the thermostat went bad when it was sitting around
brand new misimoto radiator
i dont think it matter but its a s14 also
there a pic so you know the setup

stat wont matter...

if your fans arnt coming on and it still over heats when your driving fast i would say its some kind of prob with your circulation or air.cause your temp sensor is maybe reading the cool so it wont tell the fans to kick on cause its not flowing properly my 2cents so far with that info.

only thing i can think of is one of the water lines got crossed so the water is not flowing and not cirucaling which probally why the fans arent kicking on

bear with me, i am kind intoxicated...

if you are over heating ther eare only a few reasons as to why you would....

1. you have bubbles in your water system... this is the most comen issue because fresh motors have to pump water into all the journeys

2. you system cant stay pressurized.... coolant systems stay 'cool' by compressing and keeping the coolant from boiling over... if you shit is pressurized and NOT loosine pressure then you are fine and that is not your issue...

3. BHG... you would know.. you would be blowing smoke out your pipes or your water system would bubble with the rad cap off b3cause ofc the pressure being built up fr4om each compression stroke...

my honest guess is that you have bubble in you water system.. this is the most common issue with fresh installs...

regardless... in florida (especially sout fl) you should NOT have any coolant in your water system at all.. you should be running distilled water with 1-2 bottles of water weter... coolant only raises your boiling point 4-5 degrees but the convection properties of water are like 100% beter then a coolant water mix.... you just need something to keep oxidation and corosion down (which water wetter will do)

im only in cocoa and im running distilled water with water wetter in the car
ill bleed the system in the morning

btw you know me we met at hk private osw track day when your wheel fell off i had the camera lol and was hanging out watching
but thanks for the help
ill see what happens in the morning

haha my wheel didnt fall off, my castle nut sheered off and I had to bang out the ball joint and press a new one in at the track..

dude if you are in cocoa/rockledge talk to shawn... he will konw wtf is going on...

if all else, I will pro0babkly be coming over there sometime this week and I will check your shit out for you if you cant figure it out

edit: just let your shit idle and heat up (keeping in mind nissans only have cold, warm, overheating ticks on the temp gauge) then keep pouring water into it until it wont take anymore then cap it and let it over flow and you should be golden.... there really arnt that mean reasons to over heat.... event just sitting at idle with busted fands you should still be good until you start revving the engine and build the egt's up...

that was a pretty good day from you breaking that and pat not even getting his car off the trailer
best moment when you walked up to pat and was were the only 2 left with tires and he just looked at you and lit a cigg so great

theres a bleed screw for the coolant system on the intake mani by the upper rad hose
