alright guys i am about to buy some rims from xxr, they are the new 522's, i am thinking to get the 18's, i do not know anything about off sets and i am not sure what would look great.. the offsets available are 48, 30, and 25... i have z32 calipers so they would need to clear those... thanks for the help guys :bigthumbu

25 all around and if im not mistaken they should clear if not pep boys 5mm spacers.

it also depends on the face design, but for reference, i have the stock s1 350z rims on my coupe w/ z32 brakes front and rear and they clean by a good bit.( 2-3 inches)

so if u look up the offset you could have something to compare....

second question is...... (drum roll) they are avilable in 18x8.5 and 9.5, should i go staggered or 9.5 all around?

9.5 all around has been done on s13/4 a shit load, and a +25 on a 9.5 *SHOULD* clear z brakes depending on spoke design.

Who gives a shit if everyone has 9.5 all around. It looks good, thats the reason why everyone is doing it. Get the lowest offset. I have 9.5 +15 and it clears evo brakes. Pretty sure +25 will clear with that design.

Comparing xxr's to gulflames lol

I really hope your not talking to me, because if so you're a moron.

I was referring to the fact that people have done it before, so they will fit. That was his question after all.

personally, after reading the comment of 9.5 all around i started playing with numbers...
17s are ok as 9.5s i guess, but at 18s... 9.5 are going to be more of an issue imo. the offset to really get good clearance for important things like angle (not brakes lol). the diameter of the extra 1/2 inch (1/2 in farther from center of wheel) reaches farther out to the body of the car as the wheel turns. in other words, the outer arc of the edge of the tire is larger on a 18 than a 17.

right now i suffer as 18x8 +25 hitting my tc arms with the rubber. I'm getting better offset setup now so i hope it will not hit anymore and I can actually use my full angle mods.

on s14?? do 18s. on s13 do 17s. 9.5 all around

WRONG...

drop dead gorgeous all depends on offset...

they dont make a 17x9.5, so if u wanna a wheel that wide u gotta get the 18's, personally i would get the 18's.......just me.......

please for god's sake have aero and be slammed if you are putting 18's on an s13.

Box. You lost me, I thought that is what aspect ratio is all about, overall rolling diameter.

if you treat the outer (but inside lip or "corner" if you will) edge of the tire as a point, as you turn the wheel it draws an arc. the larger diameter = the farther from the point of rotation = the larger arc.

Prior to my new angle mods, my 18x8 and 17x9 contacted the inner fender/tc rod almost the EXACT same spots. because one was skinner and taller, it kind of made up for each others differences.

Now if you take the wheel and push it out away from the car itself (lower or negative offset), that arc stays the same (you didnt change the distance from rotation), but the clearance of the arc is greater because it has moved farther from the car as a whole.
