I was asked yesterday, how can you tell by looking at the pumpkin if you have a J30 LSD? I don't know.

on all J30 VLSD you can see that the input shaft (where the drive shaft connects to the diff) has a ABS sensor and all LSD's have a orange sticker on the cover.
Both of these j30 vlsd came from 1993 model. You can tell because they have a 5 star setup on the output shafts. But, the first photo of the J30 diff is somewhat different. The cover is made for a HICAS J30 model and the second is non-HICAS.
It's been told that the HICAS diffs locks up quicker but I really don't know about that!!!lol :bigthumbu
