this most likely isnt the right section to ask in but im new to this 240 stuff and well the shop that had my 240 put an automatic engine harness in my manual 240. i have the sohc harness laying here and i was wondering if its possible to cut the maf connector off the sohc harness and sauter(however its spelled) it onto the dohc harness i have on the 240 now? unless someone can point me to a DOHC manual engine harness for cheap

So from what i understood, your harness(in the car) has no MAF connector and you want to know if you can solder/split the connector into the harness thats in your car?

Why is it that all you guys waste this kids time?

Yes, you can attach the maf plug from the other harness to your harness, however, sohc maf is different from the dohc maf therefore you would have to use the plug off a dohc maf.

no. the harness on my car now is an automatic harness. i was wondering if i can cut the maf connector off that then use the sohc maf connector and solder it onto where the automatic maf connector was

your car is a dual cam why do you want to put a single cam maf connector on auto or manual it shouldnt matter you just need a dual cam maf

please explain why you want to change the plug or what problem your having that makes you think that you need to replace your maf or the plug

automatic and manual cars use the same maf, the only diferences are the clutch safety switch or the park safety thing wich i forgot what its called, so it doesnt matter what harness you have as long as the proper plugs where jumped

the plug for the maf is to big.

so im guessing i need a whole new harness?? i cant find them for cheap lol.

you need a dohc mafs from whatever year motor harness/ecu you have. (if its a 95 and up engine/ecu you need a s14 mafs..if its from a 91-94 engine/ecu you need a s13 dohc mafs.. if you are using a sohc ecu, sue the shop!)

to be honest idk what the hell the shop did. they ruined the car basiclly. and i think they stole parts off the car too. but i cant prove anything :\ so im now missing the center console, radio, battery, and intake. im guessing i am running the DE ecu but the shop was stupid and instead of swapping just the engine they swapped the engine, harness, and interior harness. so now my tail lights wont plug in cause the interior harness is out of a coupe. and the coupe was automatic. so the harness is automatic and most likely the ecu.

that is why im so lost. idk where to begin or what they did. i guess you can say im confused as hell
