FML! yup my car is fucked. (see last post)

alright im moving to fort myers from jacksonville in 10 days and my swap isnt done.


so heres the deal with my car with a redtop sr.

car will turn over and start but will immediately rev up and then bog down and shut off

the timing is good. maf and the side mount are all on.

i have to do the timing for the cas

also iwhen it starts since its not idling the cams seem dry when i touch them thru the oil cap.

so maybe it needs to idle for a sec?
i cleaned out the oil squirters and they flow fine.

all the hoses and what i can see on the intake mani are good. i did use gasket maker for the throttle body so im gonna get a paper gasket today.
if theres anything you can think of please let me know!

fuel is good.

the car has been sitting for about 3 months tops.

is that long enough to make the gas old?

and the car is stock with 480 injectors. like oem everything sr stock. its kinda funny
 
yea they do. these are s15 sr injectors.

and i have two ecu's

one red one black

i bought the harness, clutch, ecu off one car that ran with a e5 (blacktop) ecu on a redtop.

the motor and everything else i got from another party

whenever i get my redtop ecu back ill try that.

i was thinking maybe something to do with IACV?
and how my friend put the fuel rail in the last two injectors were not all the way into the rubber pieces. like they were angled. idk if that wold cause anything

im guessing you have some sort of crazy shit going on with a stock ecu trying to run injectors that its not tuned for and shits dumping fuel.
 
possibly. but that would cause it to rev up? maybe trying to sustain itself then floods out. im just guessing here.

ill try and swap injectors with my buddy and see.

or attempt hooking up my safc for now
 
you cant just throw bigger injectors in a stock sr with stock ecu and no fuel controller - theres ur problem - either get an SAFC II or run stock injectors

did you had the SAFC wired up for the vehicle already and you unplug it ?
 
my old ecu would rev up to like 2k then drop then back up then bog then die. It could either be that its fried or its not tuned right
 
so wait your trying to run a red top sr on a black top ecu
yes and no. the car i bought the harness off of was a redtop and had a black otp ecu and ran fine. im letting someone borrow my redtop for the time being and when i get it back ill switch them

yea ill try that...i hate wiring!!!! but ill install the safc whenever it gets cooler and i hook up finish up underneath

did you had the SAFC wired up for the vehicle already and you unplug it ?

i had the safc 2 hooked up on my ka-t but its not installed currently but ill install it and see where i get.





im just worried about the cams. i dont want to keep trying to start it and mess something up cause they are dry.
 
alright so the car starts, runs, and stays on.

but the cams are making ALOT of noise!
and i took the oil cap off and it smellls like straight GAS!!!
im so pissed. that means my rings are probably fucked up and i move in a week.
i dont have time for that.


im gonna kill myself.
