HaHA opps, Dan you're Dead!

Kenrik

Driver
So in the past two days or so my car has been feeling slower...1st gear seemed worthless and 2nd felt slower (even under WOT full boost) I was like WTF? I guess I'm getting used to it.

Well today I was driving along in 2nd @ 15mph and I noticed that when I let off the gas I did not get that decel jolt that you usually get.. so I shifted into 3rd... still very little, 4th @ 20mph.. 5th at 20mph.. slight shudder but no stall... I could feel it slip.

The clutch pedal feels like it takes less force to engage... but still works/engages at the same place it did before..

Did this XTD clutch burn out after only 800miles??? The first 300 of which it were driven lightly....

WTF? I'm going to try to rebleed the system but I'll be damed if this clutch is not worn.

Dan you're a deadman!

Sooo... If it is burned out then I guess it's time to buy a REAL clutch.

Word, circle time for kenrik.

fyi. I rebleed the master cylinder. well. until you have figured out how you can do it with one person your going to need someone else. Have em pump the pedal a few times and hold, crack the clutch hardline from the master cylinder, the person that has their foot on the clutch pedal will feel the fluid escape along with you watching the brake fluid drain from the fitting. Then tighten and do again if nessacary.

What happens is when you are driving the car hard, it heats up the clutch hardline which will boil it. With the boiling fluid in there it will create pressure in the clutch hydrolic system and the slave will be pushing on the clutch ball pivot fork slight ly disenguaging the clutch. Once you have rebled the clutch the static pressure will be released and there will not be a constant preload on the clutch (same as driving with foot resting on pedal).

try that. try to wash the brake fluid off the engine bay so it dosnt mess with ur paint too much.

Checked the slave cyl travel, perfect just like it's supposed to be...

I also did a little test.. 5th gear @ 5mph! just shudders... no stall.

the car is still completely driveable it just feels like a... SOHC KA. :(

Sooo great now I'm going to have to get another clutch :(

where dose the clutch pedal engauge at ? the top or the bottom of the pedal travel?

dose the pedal height change when you rebleed it like i told you?

^ mid range...

1st and 2nd still bite hard but when they get power on them the car just seems to Rev but not speed up..

Driveability out of boost is the same as it was before... but when it gets power it just revs without much force behind it.

circle kenrik, circle. so what clutch are you thinking about getting now? act street disc or OS twin disc?

umm.. thats funny because I seen KA-T guys with 350hp+ with that clutch and no problem.. maybe it's just your driving style.. (the guy at the zoom zoom live was talking about how people in south florida can't drive stick and burnt out 4 mazdaspeed6 clutches under 12hrs on saturday) try resting your foot on the foot rest next to the clutch pedal instead of on the clutch pedal lol
