Hey all, i have an Apexi N1 that im going to throw on my whore (s14) but i dont know what size piping would do. I was thinking 3 inch, but i was told it was going to be too big. so is 2 and 1/2 good enough? I want perfection in the sound. Also my cars not turbo yet, to my understanding is that it would be catback. So they'll go from the catalytic back or would it be straight piping with the cat in between?

yea its a a catback since its not turbo... and their rite.. 2 1/2 would do.. if u go too big u would loose back pressure. ... from wat i kno... dont quote me on dat.

Yeah, too big would looose back pressure and the low end would loose alot of power, on the other hand? Do you plan on doing a swap? or going turbo, because then you will want 3inch, and why do it twice?

yea i plan on going KA-t but not for another while, i havent even done the 5 speed swap. Okay so 2 and 1/12 it is.

an auto with an exhaust doesn't sound too good, especially when the trans does a kick down. In my opinion ( which shouldn't affect yours ) auto cars with exhaust is pretty ricer.

stock exhaust ftw. quiet and nice.
Thanks, yea i hate that sound. Quick question chuck, would the s13 clutch lines fit as the s14 clutch lines? Since you did the 5 speed swap. and you did the conversion your self or you had some one do it for you as help?

back pressure aiding in power a common misconception, back pressure is never ever good. NEVER. This idea of back pressure is misunderstood for velocity. Moving to a larger diameter exhaust pipe will reduce air speed, which could hurt scavenging.

There are books written about this stuff if you want to know.

i did my s14 5spd swap, I dont know if they are identical, but brake lines will bend. I bent mine to fit after i eliminated the clutch damper box. im pretty sure they are the same, but you will have to bend them around to fit if you are removing that damper box. ( Which i think is a good idea).
