They are all underexposed.
Take a look at this guys work. I love his basketball photography. His main camera setup is a Canon 1d mkIII with a Sigma 150-300 (I believe) and a 20d with a Tamron 24-75 f2.8

he is in a college arena with 10 times more lighting
and shooting with a pro body with amazing iso range
all i had was 2 AB800's
volley ball season is over, and i cant shoot with flashes

i remember highschool games at ferg they had the windows open in the gym lol that was the only light

He uses natural light. Yes his mkIII shots are awesome but the images he gets from the 20d with the Tamron are just as awesome. If you didn't know what he was shooting with you'd never be able to tell the difference except for one being wide angle.
I hate being on my work computer. Whats you camera your using and your shutter speed/iso/fstop range for the shots? Even though they have crappy lighting indoors I'm sure you could work it. Esp with have 2 alienbees. I'm not sure on their line but aren't the 800s pretty powerful?

The first and last one are underexposed. The second I'd bump up a light bit probably .5
1st and 2nd ones were back lit
the light you see on their backs is ambient light
i wanted more of a silhouette, but it was hard to get
