What gauges should i get for my SR, eletrical or mechanical? and air ratio should be wide band or not? thanks

Oil Pressure - Electrical
Air/Fuel - Wideband
Boost - any

If you have a turbo timer that can server as your Batt. Voltage gauge

Other than that egt and water temp are good ones to have as well

Electrical and mechanical gauges both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Though electrical are more expensive than their Mechanical counterpart
Either way you should try to get the best gauges you can afford.

But I would reccommend you get to start with

Oil Pressure
Water Temp
Boost
Air/Fuel Meter

Tru - But the Mechanical Gauges - Such as Oil - Tend to leak into ur cockpit should that cheap plastic line get punctured. The only solution that I have seen work is SS lines which get extremely expensive for longer spans -Autometer haz a kit of SS lines for their gauges but its about 80-100 bux for the length you would need

^my mechanical oil pressure guage leaked like a mofo in my supra id recomend staying away from that.

Don't use cheap stuff!!

Oil, boost, water temp, wideband o2

My water temp got to 210 once and the stock on read like nothing was wrong!

If you are gonna have to get expensive lines, then it would be worth it to just get the electrical lol.

I know, you are correct. Mechanical guages are cheaper and require a physical connection from what is being monitored. Which means the coolant, oil, fuel or whatever it may be will be routed into the passenger comparment and can leak inside.

Electrical gauges are connected by wires, and is monitored by a sensor on the motor, or whatever it is attached to. The sensor is wired to the gauge and the information is then displayed on the gauge. Electrical gauges are also more capable of being installed in tighter areas, all you need to do is find a spot and route the wiring, compared to the mechanical gauge that may crimp a line or get cut by a sharp corner. Many people would say that electrical gauges are superior to mechanical gauges, which is true IMO.
