whats the stock fuel pressure supposed to be on a s13? i want to know if i can limit the pressure with a fpr to about 10psi without damaging and or burning out the fuel pump? im putting together a custom motor set and need to figure outa few things out before i go for it :bigthumbu lmk what u guys think, and if u havent figured it out yet its gonna be carb'ed

ps: if u already know what im thinking of going to do dont open ur big mouth lol its a secret!!!!!!:bigthumbu
 
i just found out the stock pressure in the fsm, 33psi with fpr vacuum, 43psi without vacuum to the fpr, what i need to know now is if i can significantly cut that pressure down without burning up the fuel pump? i think 8-10psi is what im looking at
 
i think as long as you adjust at the fpr, the pump will be putting out the same as at any pressure...yay or nay?
 
i dont know thats why im asking i dont want to choke the pump for nothing if anything i can go a different route but this is wayyyy easier

that is factory fuel pressure, and no u can not lower fuel pressure. if u do ur motor will run extrmly lean, and probly, if not even run!

the fuel pressure has been tested by nissan and set at a certain number for the average best fuel ecomony/consumption.

8-10psi for fuel pressure is impossiable for a efi setup

yes i did read it, ur asking if u can limit the stock fuel presure to lower, i said no if u want to run 8-10 psi u need to get a new fuel pump, fuel filter, fpr that is designed to run atr that fuel pressure
 
what im trying to do is use the stock fuel pump with an aftermarket fpr to limit it to 8psi and run a carberurated motor without modifying the fuel system, if thats not possible ill just put a feed tube in the tank and run a mechanical fuel pump but id rather not
 
well... with my walbro and nismo fpr i could open it almost all the way up and get it down that low... i obviously didnt run it like that on a ka, idk if its necessarily GOOD for the pump, but it could be done. and i think that the pump always pumps out the same pressure, and the fpr merely adjusts the flow to adjust pressure, so i DONT THINK it would affect the pump... wish i could give a more solid answer, my 2 cents

you will have to modify the fuel system. YOU CAN NOT USE THE EFI SYSTEM!!!!!

u will need a low pressure fuel pump, a fuel filter for it, and a fuel pressure regulator for a low pressure setup
